Things you love about your country

Honestly, since the economy in my country(America) isn't the best, I don't really like anything about it. It's not that I hate it, it's just going through some hard times. But if I had to choose, it would be the women's rights. I feel lucky that our country doesn't treat women like a toy like some countries do.

As a massive tightwad, I like how cheap everything is here, especially compared to Europe. Cheap food, cheap clothes, cheap cars, cheap gas, and all that. Though, I wouldn't mind paying a little more for stuff that needs money (roads especially), But, in the part of the country I'm in (the one with highest number of Confederate flags per capita), that's not really going to see any progress.

First and foremost, freedom. I hold personal freedom over a great many things.

Secondly, it's developed.

And finally, I'm not living in a war zone or under some totalitarian rule, so there's that as well. :P

I guess as an American I appreciate my freedom (MURICA)

No but seriously, I really do appreciate that I can be whatever I choose to be, and am not forced to do something, as well as other freedoms I get. Also the fact that overall we have a pretty good quality of life. I don't live in conditions in which I'm worried for my life daily or anything.

America in my opinion isn't really as bad of a country as people make it out to be, sure, we have our share of issues, but i'm sure everyone is well aware of that stuff, I try to be grateful for what we have however.

I love the universal healthcare and its contribution film and television and popular music. In fact I might be so bold as to state that I consider it the greatest nation in terms of sitcoms, movies and television dramas. After America.

I also like the stereotype of suavity and intellectualism it has around it.

I also like how in the Olympics, instead of sexy ladies they just had guys in suits. British women can be potentially beautiful (apparently they're the most buxom of Europe, another thing!) but it was pretty progressive.

It's sad how you include one of the worst things about your nation and which direly needs reform as one of its best qualities. USA is such a great nation only needs a couple of areas drastically altered.

There's a lot to both like and hate about the U.S. The beautiful landscapes, endless opportunities, and in general that liberated, free spirit that inhabits us all are part of why I love the U.S.

I absolutely hate my country... although, I have to admit it is absolutely gorgeous. Especially it's coastline. Warning barrage of pictures (not my own) below.

I'm jealous of those of you who live in Scandinavia. It seems quite peaceful and safe in comparison to America ― especially if you're talking about my home state, California.

Some things that are interesting about California:

  • Hollywood is the entertainment capital of the country, whose name is a metonym for the motion picture industry of the United States [a].
  • It is the 3rd largest state.
  • It is known as "The Golden State." The reason being that California was especially famous for its history of gold mining that was very prolific in the state's early years of settlement.
  • We have the lowest (Death Valley at -282ft) and highest (Mount Whitney at 14,491ft) points in the contiguous 48 states.
  • We have the Golden Gate Bridge, Yosemite National Park, and Disneyland, Hollywood :3
  • "Almost twenty years after California passed the "Save Our State" initiative, which denied public, social, educational, and health services to illegal immigrants, Gov. Jerry Brown signed a bill in 2011 giving illegal immigrant college students access to state-funded financial aid, the second half of two-part legislation known as the "Dream Act." [b]
