If Hasbro ever decided to take a risk and make a pony series for males

First of all....SHOULD they? (I mean, Bronies and all. And I could see it making them money, if they tried to branch out and offer something more than non-show-accurate toys for little girls, if they made a branch series to appease the older fanbase, product-wise) How do you think this series aimed towards boys would differ from MLP:FIM? Who would be the mane 6? Would they be stallions or colts?

(I could easily see the Mane 6 lineup being Snips, Snails, Rumble, Spike, Featherweight, Pipsqueak)

Quite honestly this would remove what makes the Brony fandom special.

It probably would not have the same sort of vibe to it.

And what would it be composed of exactly? Stallions who need to find a way to get a pint of cider?

No they shouldn't. The regular show is made to be enjoyed by anyone, no matter the gender, and creating a show focusing solely on males seems unfair for the show to say the least.

And mane 6-wise, Cheese Sandwich, Big Mac, Shining Armor, Caramel, Time Turner, and Spike I guess. Still creating a male-centered pony show is pointless.

Waste of money and would only cause contradictions, why are males attracted to MLP?

The sweetness, cute and life morals it teaches to us, having a male only version would segregate the fandom though that doesn't mean they can't be in the same MLP universe maybe an episode catered to those characters you enlisted would be interesting.

That's a bad idea, the show already has a male and female audience.

Don't forget the characters are ponies because "girls like ponies", 6 main male characters would be contradictory.

Could it be directed by Michael Bay?

lol I joke

I think the great thing about mlp is the fact that it can appeal to both genders and even more importantly that it portrays females in an interesting dynamic way. This may sound weird, but even a lot of movies and shows aimed at adults cannot seem to figure out how to write good female characters. Could they bring in more masculine elements? Sure, but I wouldn't want to lose what makes this show so unique and interesting.

If I were to do a dude mane six though (for an episode anyway) my line up would be Big Mac, Spike, Soarin, Shining Armor, Fancy Pants, and Braeburn.

so if not an entire series, then an episode with just male ponies? Just to break away from the norm?

I can't see it working unless enough people are fine with a spin-off purely starring Spike and Discord as they're probably the only male character in the show with a decent amount of development

No, they shouldn't.

But if you want a male Mane 6, then the best way would be to come up with a male counterpart for each of the original Mane 6:

  • Twilight Sparkle → Shining Armor
  • Applejack → Big Mac or Braeburn
  • Fluttershy → Discord?
  • Pinkie Pie → Cheese Sandwich
  • Rainbow Dash → Thunderlane or Soarin'
  • Rarity → Fancy Pants

Spike and Discord! I'm sold! Discord is such a fun character, and it would be a great way to develop Spike, maybe have him learn some more mature skill...

I never did realize this, but you are very right. All of them are very interesting female characters that are quite enjoyable to watch.

1. They won't.

2. They shouldn't, since I doubt Bronies alone could keep it afloat for long.

3. The show would just divide the sexes again, right after males tried so hard to be accepted for liking something that's traditionally feminine. And even if the show was created, it'd still be a feminine show, just with male characters. What's the point of that?

OMG Creepy Troll Warriors.

The toys would probably do that. They would make "Equestria Guys" and that would be the outcome

My theory is they would do a line called "Warhorses" for boys and give them armor, jetpacks and artillery launchers strapped to their barrels.

Why the heck would you do that?

Seriously, this show is made for everyone, not for a certain demographic.

That would be the the most ridiculous thing hasbro could make!! Will they sing and be rainbowfied too!?

Nah, they wouldn't and shouldn't do it.

But, I wouldn't mind seeing some more male-centric episodes, to help flesh out the characters.

I mean, I can see them doing an episode with Spike, Breaburn, Big Mac, and others. I don't see why they should dedicate an entire separate series for this one idea.

Really this seems rather . . . what's the word? Superfluous. This show is already amazing as it is and the central characters are already all interesting and likable. Why does there need to be a separate show with a chiefly male cast?

A good character, is just a good character, regardless of their gender.
