gaming There should be a Disney fighting game

Now I was thinking since Cartoon Network had a crossover fighting game, I think the same should happen with Disney. Like a Super Smash Bros. style game with numerous Disney characters. Think about it, Mickey Mouse, Disney Princesses, Winnie the Pooh, Pirates, Fairies, Phineas and Ferb, and numerous other Disney characters fighting each other all in one game. That would be like the ultimate Disney game.

Considering there have been many Disney crossovers it's possible a Disney fighting game could happen. There have been crossovers like House of Mouse, Kingdom Hearts, Disney Infinity, and so much more. I think that kind of game would sell like hotcakes. And they could throw in bonus characters like Star Wars, Marvel, and Sora as well and some collectible figures as well.

What do you think of a potential Disney fighting game?

There was apparently an idea at Disney Interactive at one point to basically make a Super Smash Bros game with Disney characters that unfortunately never came to light - http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2013/01/the_disney_projects_that_never_came_to_life

I do hope at some point Disney reconsiders because they have such an iconic cast of characters that could work excellently for a Smash-Style game

As a personal not, if it does ever happen, I kind of want them to include Kingdom Hearts/Star Wars/Marvel characters, if only so I can beat up Prince Hans as the Hulk XD

Well, I'd be interested in the concept, but Sony already tried that with their characters and that one pretty much bombed; even if the game was actually pretty fun. Really, if a Disney SSB is to succeed Disney would have to market the hell out of it.

There was sort of going to be one. The original Dissidia was supposed to be a Kingdom Hearts fighting game but Disney supposedly didn't want their characters beating on each other "violently" so it was changed into a Final Fantasy game instead.

A damn shame, too. Dissidia was pretty awesome and it probably would have matched the Kingdom Hearts cast much better.

Well Sony's characters aren't very iconic but Disney characters are known by pretty much everyone and I think it would do well because of that.

i dont see why not, after all, almost all series have a fighting game, including MLP

Well I wouldn't consider it official since it's partially fan-made and not from Hasbro but Faust was involved in it.

Kids around 7 years old should already now what the differences are between comical and real violence. Even Nintendo doesn't make a fuss about Mario beating Peach.

ANd did you knew that the Looney Tunes had a fighting game called Tom and Jerry in Fists of Fury (also called War of the Whiskers)? No fuss either. It's not like every fighting game has gore and heavy realistic violence, but unfortunately Disney is still afraid for the soccer moms and PTC, who'll still hate on Kingdom Hearts too anyway.

Eh, I'd argue that there were a ton of things that led to that game bombing. I have a huge bone to pick with that game, but that's a debate for another time

Arguably, Disney characters have a ton of mainstream appeal that they could probably release the game with a minimal advertising effort and still make their money's worth. Hell I'd argue that all they need to do is air commercials on a few noteworthy kid's channels and other places like CBS and it'll sell well

This could definitely be an interesting concept, since Disney characters are, overall, quite diverse. Imagine a fighting game like Smash Bros. that has Buzz Lightyear and Mulan fighting Wreck It Ralph and Pocahontas???? That would be friggin' cool. XD

I would love this concept! Tarzan vs. Aladdin! Peter Pan vs. Hercules! Mulan vs. Merida! Better yet, mix up the villains and heroes! Kida vs. Ursula! Stitch vs. Jafar! The Beast vs. Scar!

The possibilities are endless!

Would also be great to take the style of Power Stone.

Nice idea. Elsa, Rumble McSkirmish, Stanford Pines, Bill Cipher, Wreck-it-Ralph etc. would be some characters to put in.

Locations to fight would be like in Disney World.

Oh snap since Disney also owns Marvel and Star Wars they could probably port some characters in as well. Disney has just too many possibilities.

Oh my! All of my yes! Yeah, i know i'm late to this thread, but it'd sure be amazing to have a fighting game of the Disney franchise. I kinda picture it similar to the Godzilla games made by Piperworks Software, mostly Save the Earth

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SC9Wj8KIZOc

Just watch the video, and mentally substitute both Godzillas with any Disney characters of your choice, with attacks more befitting to them, uttering battle quotes, and VOILA!
