But, let's be honest here, the fact of the matter is that harassment shouldn't be happening, period, and as long as it is, it's going to be reported on, because people don't read good news. People like to hear about the worst of the worst.

 

I agree there, but I wish that weren't so common. Some people are interested in the truth, but many others like what's most interesting or attention-seeking, and the media seems to care more about the ladder. I really don't like that about the news and its audience.

Yeah, it's very annoying. Like, people often laugh when I say I play Roblox, because those are the people who have a closed mind and don't see how amazing it can really be, especially in 2015 after they've spent 10+ years continually improving their engine in every way they could. And they're still working on it, and will be for a long time.

I believe there are some conflicting sides here.

 

Also, the whole "Idiot who thinks new games are all stupid" stereotype. The sixth gen was REALLY AWESOME, but this gen got some really good games, too (Oblivion, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Borderlands, etc.)

 

Also, the whole "you are inferior" (noob) mindset that infects most online gaming nowadays. And since that's the most popular chunk of gaming, see why I prefer old?

Well, this is more of a jab towards casual Pokémon players, but still. Now I don't play it competitively either, but what I find most jarring is this. Apparently if you're a competitive player you're "nasty" for treating your Pokémon like tools instead of friends. It also apparently means that if you do play competitively it'll mean that you don't have a favourite Pokémon and that I must have one.

 

First off, competitive players actually play that way because they find it fun. It's a refreshing take compared to how easy casual mode is. Secondly, there are plenty of people who play Pokémon competitively, and they still have a favourite or two. And finally, so what if I treat mine like tools or friends? In the end, they actually don't feel anything.

Let me tell you something. Smite's World Championship had a prize pool of 2.6 million dollars. That's aroun 600,000 more than League's highest prize pool if I recall right. 

"Oh you play Smite? Come at me when you start playing CS:GO"

Tried CS.... really, really bad at it. 

"You play MOBAs, they're all the same thing, play something cool like COD."

How about... no? COD is the very definition of same thing rehashed. It works, it makes money, but it isn't very original is it?

You got highest gold, player damage and kills on your team, but you lose and you're negative.

"Why'd you feed them? Report (Insert god you were playing here) for feeding. Uninstall you filthy casual."

There are such things as bad games.

This is why I only do singleplayer, even on games that were meant to be online multiplayer for the most part (SWBF2)

I'm too much of an extrovert to play single player games. I love multiplayer games. MMOs, MOBAs, TF2, really psyched for Overwatch, GMod. I lvoe multiplayer. I do still enjoy single player games, but I will take a multiplayer game over it. Recently I started playing Child of Light, and I'm really impressed, but I can't play for long because I get bored by myself. I love interacting with people, which is why I always play with friends and link through Skype when I party up on Smite, I get my party on Skype and we turn off Curse unless we're playing Ranked which isn't too terrible often. But usually I'll be in a party of two or three at one time and we'll do that so we don't have to hear people who bash us when we play bad or when we're screwing around.

I wish I could have when I played Borderlands 2. I palyed Siren and built her heavily CC. I had leveled Motion up to Converge and used Implosion grenades, so I would Phaselock someone, they would all get pulled in, then toss an implosion grenade and it would pull them closer and apply whatever status effect that grenade does. I wish I'd had a Zero build to the skill where if he kills someone in Deception it resets Deception. So basically I Phaselock and grenade, then Zero would go in and nuke everyone without ever leaving Deception.
