movies/tv What are your favorite cartoons made BEFORE the 90's?

So there's already a thread about favorite cartoons made after the 90's. And I was thinking, almost everyone talks about how great 90's cartoons are, how bad cartoons after that were, but hardly ever talk about cartoons from before the 90's. I'm surprised most of the classics from before the 90's don't get enough attention anymore. Cartoons have been around far longer than that and yet there's mostly only praise of 90's cartoons. Since I'm an animation enthusiast, I will watch cartoons from any era and not judge them based on the era they're from. Now I was born in 1997 so these were before my time but I still enjoy them

Here are my favorite pre-90's cartoons in no particular order:

  • Popeye the Sailor
  • Mickey Mouse
  • Looney Tunes
  • Tom & Jerry
  • Ducktales
  • Flintstones
  • Peanuts
  • Scooby Doo
  • New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (It's kind of like FiM in the late 80's, early 90's)
  • Simpsons (It started it's first episode in 1989 but didn't really take off until the 90's)
  • Wallace & Gromit
  • School House Rock
  • Brohoof 4

I had this channel called Boomerang. Used to watch Scooby Doo, Flintstones and the Jetsons all the time.

Also, Wacky Races. That show was the best

  • Brohoof 2

Before 1990: there's The Simpsons, and maybe other cartoons like the Looney Tunes or Tom&Jerry...

EDIT: holy shit did I forgot Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote? :c

I am not really much of a fan of animation made before the 90's so I don't think this will be a long list.

I like Peanuts

Alvin and The Chipmunks

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit

Muppet Babies

and  A Pup Named Scooby Doo

- Scooby-Doo Where Are You?

- The Flinstones

- The Jetsons

- Looney Tunes

- Pink Panther

- The Smurfs

- Rocky and Bullwinkle

- Yogi Bear

- Huckleberry Hound

- Mickey Mouse

- Hong Kong Phooey

- Laff a Lympics

- Mr. Magoo

And lots that aired on Boomerang

All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention. I believe that someone should become a person like other people.

I really like Soviet propaganda cartoons. I especially love that one with the pioneer and a violin, I forgot the name but will search and link it when I get home.

Edit: Wouldn't you know it, it's actually called Pioneers violin, here it is:

Tom And Jerry, Mickey Mouse And Friends, The Simpson, The Flinstones. That's all. We didn't have much American cartoon in Vietnam back then.

There was this cartoon I really enjoyed, I think it's slightly obsecure but I'm not really sure. It was called "Rescue Heroes"

Billy was my favorite when I was a kid. I think I still have some of the figures lying around.

Hm...even though I was born in the late 90's, I have grown up to love all of these:

- Tom and Jerry

- Scooby Doo, Where Are You?

- DuckTales (which ended in 1990, so I don't know if that still counts)

- Godzilla (Animated Series by Hanna-Barbera Productions and Toho)

- The Flinstones

- The Jetsons

- Spider-Man (1967 TV Series)

- The Pink Panther Show

- Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids

- The Smurfs

- Spider-Man (1981 TV Series)

- The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show

- He-Man and the Masters of the Universe

- The Transformers (TV Series)

- The Care Bears (TV Series)

- ThunderCats

- G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero (1985 TV Series)

- The Berenstain Bears (1985 TV Series)

- Dragon Ball (Anime)

- The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh

- Dragon Ball Z (Was made in 1989 and lasted until 1996, so I don't know if that counts)

- The Super Mario Bros. Super Show

- The Legend of Zelda (1989 TV Series)

and

- The Simpsons

In my perspective that is a lot of shows, but there are just never enough that I will ever see and or love. Yes, I watched all of those when I was like 1 year old and later on...it would regularly be hard for me to remember seeing shows like those, but I never forgot.
