You're absolutely right Conred, we would see some male friends like Button Mash or some male ponies by now. Except I'm NOT ready to see the adult CMC with their cutie marks yet. It's because I like the Crusaders the way they are by now.

I think this season will end giving CMC their cutie marks when they confront Starlight Glimmer. The characters are slowly mature. However it might be too early to make a time skip into the future.

All toys made by Hasbro feature Mane6. First, they need to adjust their merchandise to the main characters that suppose to replace them. I really doubt Hasbro planning on doing that since Mane6 are the most iconic and recognizable characters from MLP. It's like removing Batman from Batman series and tell a story about Robin. HOWEVER Hasbro may do additional series that happen in the future while still making MLP FiM G4. At least if they aren't already planning something similar with Equestria Girls.

Making a spinoff series costs alot of time and money. FiM on it's own is a huge success, so i am not so sure if Hasbro wants to take the risk with a spinoff series, giving the writers even more work and probably making the hiatuses even longer. I think Hasbro will play it safe and will just do FiM.

They are rich enough to hire additional studio beside DHX. Quality would be different but with additional series, they could sell more additional toys. There is a limit of toys they can push into FiM series without making writers and fandom angry. With new series, they will have an open field since every toy may become a main character or at least be featured in first season.

And if it dosen't? This is all just giant speculation what you make here. If they spend alot of money, on new writers, that might not be as good as the once on FiM, they run into danger that not many people might like to watch it and therefore, not want to buy the merch. As a company, you always want to have a plus at the end of the quarter and i don't see Hasbro wanting to risk that, when FiM is already a good moneymaker.

No I don't think this season will end giving the CMC their cutie marks while confronting Starlight Glimmer. And FYI like I said before: I'm NOT ready to see the adult CMC with their cutie marks yet. It's because I like the Crusaders the way they are by now. And besides, they're ageless Cartoon characters for Celestia's sake. About this whole "Hasbro may do additional series that happen in the future while still making MLP FiM G4 thing", you're right.

Like you said "the characters are slowly mature" and it might be too early to make a time skip into the future. The characters on this show are ageless no matter what. Just in case if they spend a lot of money, on new writers, that might be as good as the once on FiM, they won't run into danger as long it's successful like its counterpart. Still they're rich enough to hire additional studio beside DHX. But the point is: There is a limit of toys they can push into FiM series without making writers and fandom (Bronies and Pegasisters around the world) angry. With new series, they will have an open field since every toy may become a main character or at least be featured in first season.

And come to think of it: Making a spinoff series DOES NOT cost a lot of time and money. FiM on it's own is a huge success, so I am sure if Hasbro wants to take this chance with a spinoff series, giving the writers even more work faster and probably do the "South Park Way".

First they do the script, they record the voice dialogues, then animate it and the episodes usually come out months after they're finished.

1) Scripting

2) Voice Recording

3) Animating

4) And voila, the episodes are out!
