I like this one, even if she only appears for one episode, but now people are making fan art of her doing drugs, really? That's sick and real shameful.

I like her because I don't look at her as a stereotype even though I usually hate stereotypes. I look at her as a symbol of Peace, Harmony, and Love and she reminds me a lot of spirituality, yoga, and meditation.

Candy, it's called rule 34 and you can not stop it. As for Tree Hugger, I don't ship her with Fluttershy at all and even though she was very stereotypical, I still think she was alright as a character and the people who work on the show did a good job designing her.

People will make jokes out of everything. Personally, I don't care, since those jokes don't affect how they use her in the show.

i really liked tree hugger she's like one of the most relaxed and chilled ponies i've seen. she seems like somepony you could just sit down and talk to about anything and she would totally listen to you. the whole hippy thing is funny to me especially when she did the noise thing to calm down Smooze.

Its really disrespectful to make a pony look like something their not, Its insulting. That's one of my pet peeves, i never like to see anything done that will make them look bad; and yet someone does it anyway. I've wanted to say something, but i always seem to hold myself back; i'm just uncomfortable with a new character being treated like garbage.

 

I'm fine if they draw her normally, but do so with drug use and you're crossing a thin line; not every person like her does what everybody thinks. Its just her personality, nothing more.

O you were referring to drug use all this time? Well as I've said in another thread, for canon's she wouldn't be doing drugs and her level of spirituality would be the result of her very relaxed behaviour. Though at same time it wouldn't surprise me if she did and would also explain her behaviour.

Not necessarily. I know several "hippie types" and none of them are into smoking weed. They're just relaxed, peaceful nature lovers. But they really did kinda crank up the stereotype on TreeHugger.

You know I was actually surprised about how much I did end up liking this character. Especially since the Hippie sub-culture she's drawn from normally annoys me. She was a bit out of it, but I didn't feel like her mannerisms were an act but that's just who she actually is. Plus she has a job, so she has a place in society rather than rebelling against it.

 

What's more is that she actually did something! What's more, more is that she defeated the smooze! That took an army of alicorn equivalents before hand!

 

(Also I really liked her design.)

That's another aspect I liked about her, brining up metaphysical concepts the show had not really touched on before.

Agreed, they never even hinted that she uses such, or any substances for that matter. If she made some veiled mention of "potions" or "elixirs" or "herbal recipes" than sure, but nothing in her dialogue suggests that.

 

Hell by that logic, Zecora is the biggest pot pusher in the realm!

I didn't say you did but the first to respond in this thread did, Lightwing. Added onto that, "doing you know what" was too vague as there are numerous members in this thread mistakenly thinking you were referring to rule 34 instead of drug use.
