Insomniacs unit!

Pinkie's Hat

I am lucky enough to not have it. In fact, I have sleep deprivation and it allows me to fall asleep in less than five minutes, no matter what I'm doing.

However, I post in this because I had a friend back when I was in the Navy who had it. They had him on a crazy shift, like, for three days, he'd work nights, then for two days he'd have day shift, then another two night shifts, followed by three days shifts, so on and so forth... I knew he had insomnia and knew he only got about an hour a day, but I saw him on the way to my barracks one afternoon. He was pale, tired, sickly looking and had no idea where he was. His eyes were so sunken in... frankly, I'm surprised he was alive, and I mean that.

Took him to medical, but he worked in another department, so I didn't get to see him much. I think he's been able to level it out some.

If you were to see me, you would think you had seen a vampire because I have pale skin and sunken eyes, plus I have terrible nightmares so even if I manage to get a bit of sleep I suffer from it. And I do hope your friend is better because Insomnia can be very deadly.

I hope you get better, too, magic hat. : ( No one should have to deal with it.

I have on and off insomnia, and it's especially been acting up the last few days. No matter when I go to bed, I end up spending most of the night awake, to the point I legitimately have no idea how much sleep I've actually gotten.

I get insomnia a lot.  It happens at random.  Sometimes I sleep just fine, and sometimes my brain just says nope.  It's one of the reasons that a conventional job doesn't work for me.  I never know when my body will just reject any attempt to sleep, and then I really can't function.

(edited)

I go to bed at a reasonable hour.

I wake up at 3:35. Then 4:30. Then 5:30. Then 6:30...

etc.

The good news is, I'm never late for sleeping in.
