Huh, good point, I had forgotten about the cake. Did you count 23? That makes perfect sense as to her age.

 

From my estimates, the number of candles could be anywhere from 21 (what we see here) to 32 (if we take that the candles on the edges are the last one we see here, and there are still others on the back side). The numbers I've heard were mostly 23, so I took that answer.

Even then, RD is probably not a teenager as she's a part time weather pony, and even thought she's sometimes acting childish, that job does require discipline and responsibility. She probably isn't over 35 either as she competed in a continent wide equivalent of the Olympic games and is an amateur flyer and possible Wonderbolt trainee, which requires a lot of energy that a 35-40 year old probably wouldn't have. That would center her age between 19-20 and 30 years old.

Like the disabled Scootaloo thing, which the MLP Wiki still states even though their "source" is a YouTube video where a guy says "I was part of Lauren Faust's security detail and she gave me an exclusive interview but I wasn't allowed to record it so you have to take my word for it". And there being a quote on Faust's DeviantArt which outright answers the question of Scootaloo by saying "No reason. She just hasn't figured it out yet."

Anyway I do find Spike older than the CMC and he's still considered a baby to the mane six. Maybe the CMC will grow up during the course of the show. I mean Applejack was getting all weepy when she felt her sister was growing up when she was preparing her for the Grand Galloping Gala. It's possible that a certain age must be reached before going to the GGG.

That's NOT the point cider float! The CMC won't grow up during the course of the show because a cartoon character will always be ageless. I mean look at the CMC, they're eight years old!

Even if tha'ts the case, only twilight went through, and we don't know the mechanics of going through. How exactly does pony age equate to human(?) age in EG? Are they even HUMAN? I mean, blue, green people? Does she just look young enough to pass for high school age?

Nothing at all shows that the EQG world is even a little bit linked to the show. The two universes seem to have absolutely no link between each other. They do have the same characters, but humans, more girly, more Mary Sue, &c. &c. &c. Hell, even my fanfic alternate timeline has more links to the show than EQG.

Equestria Girls is not relevant to their ages in Equestria though. If the ages were aligned from Equestria to EG universe than Celestia wouldn't be alive, because I doubt a human body can stay alive for over 75-120 years let alone over 1000 years.

It's canon in the sense that it happened i can agree with that, but even Hasbro never mentioned that the mane 6 were actually teenagers. If they were, I find it hard that teenagers are already managing farms and have a full time job making clothes at a fashion boutique they own themselves.

Oh, I agree on that end. I believe it was said somewhere that the Mane 6 are considered young adults; or at least the pony equivalent to that. If I can find that I'll share it, but I can't see them as teens. The portal itself is a conundrum in how it affects things randomly that the age question in only another addition to it.

I'd imagine that the mane six are in their late teens to mid-20s, considering that some of them have jobs (Rarity, Pinkie and Applejack).

 

As for the CMCs, they are likely in between 6-11, as they attend school.

 

The members of royalty (Shining Armour, Cadence) are possibly in their late 20s to late 30s, as they have probably been reigning in their positions for a long time.

 

Mayor Mare's age is disputable, as she is revealed to dye her hair grey, from a naturally pink colour; she is likely doing this to make her seem more professional and/or wise, but it's not entirely impossible that she's in her 40s.

I would say they are in their early to mid twenties now. (23-26)

 

Started off as in their late teens or early twenties (18-21)

 

This assumes one season is equivelant to the passing of one year in their time, and Equestria Girls can be used as a basis for their ages for two reasons. One is the two sets of characters are separate individuals, and secondly the human world operates under a different set of rules than Equestria.

Wow you really want to jam your headcanon into our heads don't you? This here is debating we're supposed to do here, not "I'm always right and only listen to me". Button Mash is a fan made animation, so not cannon. Nothing prove that he is the same age as the CMC, and nothing proves they're ageless. At least 1 year has passed in the show for the mane 6, and 1 year isn't that apparent,

I would agree to them being 8, as I think that's the target age for the show and as there's a bit of Word of Faust where she says Spike is 8 maturity-wise.

 

...But yeah, Button is fanmade stuff. Actually, I haven't seen it, but this might be exactly why Hasbro slapped a C&D on it...

EQG is undoubtedly canon, but the humane 6's ages may not be. Almost nothing is linked between them and the mane 6 except their names and personalities. Even then, few (if not none) girls in their mid teens own their own fashion boutique and create world renowned clothes, nor do they become the head of their family, and even less compete in olympic games and are prime recruits for their local aerobatics team.
