First RD, then Fluttershy, then when I came back to the fandom it was AJ.

Although that's only for the mane 6. My favorite character overall is princess Cadance

I've changed many favorites over the course of my bronyhood, before finally settling on Twily for good. To me, she'll always be that adorkable nerd that I somewhat relate to.

A contender for second favorite has been and always will be Rarity.  I love everything about her, almost as much as Twi. Too bad she doesn't get as much of a spotlight as I, and many others, would like.

Yes! I have changed my mind about best pony a few times actually! The first Mane Six I liked was Rainbow Dash, I don't know why I liked, still like, her even though her personality did not match mine AT ALL! Then I moved to Applejack, who seemed a bit more down to Earth and that's more of my style, but she got overthrown by Pinkie Pie which I don't know in Hell why I liked Pinkie Pie?! Finally I just said, meh, what the Hell? And I went back to Rainbow Dash because she's the only one I could like, besides Applejack, that aren't that girly of characters.

 

And that's how Equestria was made!

My favorite was initially Rainbow Dash, but that changed to Pinkie Pie, and my favorite is now Luna

At first, my favorite was Applejack---she was a holdover from G-1, and G-1 was pretty good (though not as good as FiM!).  Also, in a lot of kid's cartoons, you're never quite sure how the characters make a living---the writers tend not to think that far, or to expect that children think that far.  With Applejack, you know how she makes a living, because she's part-owner of Sweet Apple Acres.

 

But I warmed up to Pinkie Pie over the last several years:  she's fun because she's crazy and crazy because she's fun, but what really got me was her "Smile, Smile, Smile" song from Season 2.  Many manly happy tears have been shed over that one...!

My best poni used to be Fluttershy because she's cute. Over time, I started to question whether it's OK to declare someone superior based only on their looks, so I gave it some thought and decided that while Fluttershy is a great character for reasons other than her cuteness, there are other characters with whose values I identify even more closely. Applejack became number one, and Rarity second best, placing Fluttershy in third place (But still good). I also realized that Rainbow Dash is worst pony.
