Finia 260 July 11, 2015 Share July 11, 2015 (edited) Seeing some of it. When traditional drawings where canon. They seem mother friendly in it, thats how i can explain it. Edited July 11, 2015 by Finia
The Coffee Pony 1,390 July 11, 2015 Share July 11, 2015 Yeah I saw it. For something that came out during the 80's it actually wasn't bad! I mean yeah it's full of that 80's cheese but it was a fun show.
Shanks 10,816 July 11, 2015 Share July 11, 2015 I am actually a G1 fan so I did in fact see most of the G1 cartoons and it is actually the best generation aside from G4. It has its flaws, it can get a bit cheesy at times and Megan can come off as a tad Mary Sueish but it has some surprisingly dark villains like Tirek and Grogar that have been the inspiration for both Nightmare Moon and King Sombra. G1 Tirek wanted to use his Rainbow of Darkness to bring about the "night that never ends" and could also use it to turn ponies into dragons to pull his flying chariot and was stopped by the Rainbow of Light (sound familiar). Grogar was an evil king who was turned into a goat monster thanks to being corrupted by dark magic and was sealed along with his kingdom of Tambelon for give or take a few centuries. 3 Rarity Get's Cockroaches
Finia 260 July 11, 2015 Author Share July 11, 2015 (edited) I notice that it had more innocence back then and the idea of pure kindness by simply watching it. Pretty adorable ponies though, even if it has a different style. Edited July 11, 2015 by Finia
aoEAF2FBvC0MIo2Q 3,673 July 11, 2015 Share July 11, 2015 I've seen Rescue at Midnight Castle and Florie Fugitives I believe it was called. The aesthetics worked well and it did have good atmosphere. The environments were more detailed which definitely worked to its benefit in comparison to G4's more plain style.
Argumedies 1,748 July 11, 2015 Share July 11, 2015 Im another one of the ones who enjoyed watching G1 back in the day. Just keep in mind, the 80's was a whole different game over todays standards. But for the most part it was good for what it was.
Empty Room 512 July 11, 2015 Share July 11, 2015 I watched one of the movies three years ago. I thought it was surprisingly decent. However, it just screamed "80s". "Have you ever felt the need to see more than you can see?"

Finia 260 July 11, 2015 Author Share July 11, 2015 Watching this makes me think how lonely i actually am without any friends nearby. Since most are far away. But what i like is how someone will cheer someone up when they feel bad about something. I think in real life its not so predictable or easy, or its sorta in a different way. But the idea is to try and do your best i feel.
Envy 6,263 July 12, 2015 Share July 12, 2015 So very 80s (which is not a good thing in my book, just clarifying =P)... But... I can't dislike it for that. It was all well worth my time, and I really enjoyed Wind Whistler as a character! Everything needs more woodwind!

Cirrus. 1,092 July 14, 2015 Share July 14, 2015 (edited) Wasn't a fan then (what little I saw of it in the 90's), not a fan now. But do I hate it? No. I've seen worse. It just doesn't interest me at all. Its animation and voice acting annoy me. Edited July 14, 2015 by Cirrus. Deleted account 23 July 16, 2015 Share July 16, 2015 I've seen several episodes of G1, it's actually quite enjoyable, but it isn't as good as G4. This account is no longer in use.

Guest July 17, 2015 Share July 17, 2015 I actually watched it retroactively. It's not actually "terrible" like some people make it out to be. It's watchable, but nothing groundbreaking or amazing. It was the 80s, so you have to take it with a huge grain of salt. Animation was not as great back then, and voice acting wasn't exactly something where you hired a ton of people who had craploads of experience like today. Finia 260 July 19, 2015 Author Share July 19, 2015 I really adore gen 1 in some way. I am absolutely in love with My Little Pony Tales. Its also the fact that some of the soundtrack in My Little Pony Tales kinda makes me think of Soul Calibur 3 Character Creation. Atleast at one certain spot in the OST. Its a shame it gets foreshadowed, because its a nice experience i feel to be enjoyed in its own way

Steel Accord 6,660 July 20, 2015 Share July 20, 2015 Midnight Castle was one of the movies I watched when I was very young. It's part of why it was such a delight to see Tirek show up again. Lunar Glow 676 July 20, 2015 Share July 20, 2015 Oh, yes. G2 and G4 are tops, in my opinion, but lemme tell ya, G1 was pretty darn good. Also, considering, the poison of G3 still burns in my mind, so I have pretty low standards. Avatar by @Bakugou is my Man <
