Do you think the 2017 movie will include Spike?

Spike tends to be left out of most adventure stories, and the description we have so far only mentions the Mane Six. On the other hand, he did have a role in Equestria Girls, so he could have one in the movie too, even if he's not a "main" character. The wiki page does list him as part of the cast, but that could just be a cameo.

I'm sure he'll be there, like before the plot starts him and twilight will be in the castle talking about whatever. As for if he'll be included in the important stuff, I hope he is, but I really can't tell what hasbro are gonna pull with him in the movie, if they'll use him or not, or if they just have him at the start, end, and a few 'witty' lines sprinkled in. But I really hope he gets some kind of important role, just so long as it's not taken as far as the crystal empire, him being hailed as a god and all that.

I hope so, and I hope they do it right. Spike hasn't had an important role in most episodes, and the episodes that have him as a lead seem not be able to do it right. I don't want him to be the main focus of the movie, but I want him to have an important role, and the writers know how to portray him.

It wouldn't be a true Friendship is Magic movie without Spike, now would it? He's Twilight's best friend and #1 assistant, one doesn't just exclude an essential character like that altogether. I doubt any of the Equestria Girls adverts or descriptions ever made mention of Spike. Why? Because he's expected to be there, but he doesn't usually play a particularly large role. Unlike the Mane Six, he simply isn't as pivotal to the series. Spike's not as big of a focus as the Mane Six because this is My Little Pony and he simply isn't a pony. He is a major character, but not in the same way as the girls. Whether or not Spike is a major player in this movie remains to be seen, but regardless of if he's a big contributor or just there for the ride, I don't think it will have any major impact on the movie's quality. The Mane Six have always been the stars of the show, and they can carry the story just fine by themselves.

It would have to include him. Even if it's just for GP, no matter how much the writers think him a burden. He's practically one of the main characters. He associates with the main characters, appears in more episodes than he doesn't, has more speaking roles than not, and is a part of the show's marketing even if he's been suffering from a narrative perspective. The movie has to at least acknowledge that he's there. He's important to the show, no matter how little the writers think about him.

Spike may be left out every now and again when his presence just wouldn't add anything to the plot, but how on earth would they leave him out of their first proper feature film? I'd be quite surprised if they didn't try and cram as many characters as possible into it to be honest, even if it's just a "blink and you'll miss" moment. No doubt Spike will have a large enough role though.

Of course he will be; Hasbro loves long term copyright characters, and Spike is very old school. Even if he's not given a big role, the fact that bronies like him and that he's very traditional should get him in at least a minor role.

Of course he'll be in the movie! I mean who else will be there at the beginning of this incredible quest to make a joke and then be shunted off screen for the remaining run time?
