Now that we've brainstormed her passive abilities, let's talk about her active abilities!

So I've decided that she is able to utilize 10 liters of her blood (Assuming the average pony has 27 liters) before she passes out.  Each action requires some number of liters, and a few of the actions can be reimbursed.  Anyway, here's a basic list of her attacks below.

  • Heartseekers: One liter for 10 blades, can be reimbursed, but only from those blades which have not been activated
  • Sanguine Rapier: Two liters, can be reimbursed
  • Sanguine Trap: Three liters, cannot be reimbursed
  • Blood Mist: Four liters, can be reimbursed
  • Summon Bloodthirster: Five liters, cannot be reimbursed Hope Khorne doesn't mind if she borrows a few...
  • Bloodstorm:  Ten liters, cannot be reimbursed
  • Summon Blood Wyrm:  20 litres, cannot be reimbursed If summoned, all hope is lost

Thoughts? :>

1 and 2 are pretty much the same- weapon conjuration. That's fine.

3 is interesting. Is it a snare, a poison effect, straight-up damage? A combination of the three? How is it activated- mentally, by pressure, by motion, heat, magical signature, or can you set it? Either way, 3/4ths of your resource that can't be reused seems pretty excessive.

4 is obviously a utility spell, and looks alright. Does it act as a poison effect as well, or is it just a sight blocker?

5 makes me cringe a little. A Bloodthirster's really big and scary, and I fear it might be an instant win switch. I mean, even Grey Knights, the anti daemons, take at least a few casualties dealing with one of them, and that's with them crossing into OP land. Is it on a timer, or is it a flat summon? Does it obey her, or is it a loose cannon that will merely raze the battlefield?

I need more details on six before I make a decision.

Seven seems fine to me. You'd use it as your own personal super mode, should it come to that. Maybe you could even become the blood wyvern yourself, much like Maleficent becomes a dragon.

Also, I just realized that I now can't make a character sheet of Rosalia without jacking your style. RIP small precious hemomancer mare; never to see the light of day.

I'm kind of a closet Warhammer fan; haven't played the game before but I'm totally in love with the lore (both Fantasy and 40K).  In that case, I'll probably switch the prices for the Bloodthirster and Bloodstorm.  That way, both summons will require that Carnelian find outside sources of blood or risk her own death.  Also, I could imagine that it would be bound to her will, though on a timer.

The Blood Trap is a snare with a medium range, snapping out at and clamping down on any enemy that wanders too close.  Far from incapacitating, it's mostly just to negate any mobility advantage her opponent may have.

The mist is mostly area denial, though Carnelian is able to traverse through it.  While she can reimburse it, it still coagulates within a few minutes.

And actually, the whole Maleficent thing was what I was planning (down to the "Now you face me, o scoundrel, and all the powers of HELL") XP

Finally, I wouldn't mind another hemomancer/sanguimancer/aimaturge on these forums.  There's plenty room for the both of them XD

That's Bloodthirster vs. Grey Knights in the lore. On the tabletop... nngh. Your best option is to keep it at range and dakka it back to the Warp. If it gets into punching range of you, you'd better be something really damn amazing. Like Abaddon, Calgar, Draigo, the Swarmlord... basically anything under 'overexpensive beatstick' or cheese is going to get munched. You're better off shooting it.

From one of my favorite 40k sites,

To be fair, a Bloodthirster is the Blood God's avatar of his rage, it will maim, kill, burn, split open, break the back of their opponent, drink the blood from their hearts, mutilate, anything that would sate their never-ending battle lust and to glorify Khorne. They are capable of killing virtually anything with their massive axe and strength and they are nearly impossible to stop without at least bringing something the size of Baneblade with similar firepower or the Daemonhunters.

Yes, you read that right. In all the grimdark violence of 40k, a Bloodthirster is the single most dangerous being to walk the galaxy. That is how fucking dangerous these things are.

And maybe we should do that. Get together in a different roleplay, and have the kindly, apprenticed Rosalia and the scheming diabolical Baroness attempt to accomplish a goal together.

Hmmm...the only times I really saw Bloodthirsters in action was watching a few tabletop games on youtube, though they really didn't seem to do a whole lot of damage.  Of course, that was mostly because the player couldn't get them close enough to his opponent to be of any threat XP

Also, that might be interesting :P  Tbh, though, her bloodmagic isn't that big a part of her personality.  It doesn't really influence a lot, and the more passive side of her is the more interesting part, but that's just my opinion XS

They don't share quarters...or at least didn't when Night Tracer was a thing.

Separate quarters. But right next to each other, as two individual rooms.

@J.R.

Just a heads-up; Ivory Star didn't actually warp behind Ice Blizzard, she warped the attack there. She's still on her energy panel, a bits distance away from him. :P

@Fractured

So, uh, can you explain what was going on with your last post?

She was actually talking to Caliber and Lektra, who she saved from dying, then sorta threw Raze in on the side, because she remembered his name. If you mean how is she here when she's still fighting, that's the SOL/ Arena dichotomy. Just ignore that, for now. :P

@Fractured

Uh-huuuuuhhhh....

A rule established a long while back that you could have two posts for the same character. One for the purposes of SOL, and the other specifically for the purposes of fighting in the arena, with it counting as a separate, semi-canon event. Made for the people who wanted to have their cake, and eat it too, really. :D

I'm finding it hard to follow all the characters that aren't directly interacting with me. I'd love to explain my story threads to anyone confused if you guys can explain yours. Like, what's going on with Celestia and Chrysalis right now and how long exactly has Ice been in this fight he's in? Seems like forever .3.

Well Ice has finally found a good match--it's not gonna be short. XD
