Depeche Mode making a new album? boy i think i need to catch up on their stuff sometime. i bought 5 singles from them some month ago in a store.

Renard made a new EP with the old alias JAQL. i almost choked when i saw this in my email.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itlr_Kwnao4

another thing from Renard. an obscure alias hosted on another bandcamp page called Bandetto. i implore you to check out at least the song "pleasure animals" he has, because it's so good.

Depeche Mode have always been making new albums, so yeah a new one isn't surprising to me

And well it's nice to know that Renard is making new stuff as well

Oh and I almost forgot

Trent Reznor's new band, How To Destroy Angels

Are releasing a new album as well

For those of you who are into Post-Industrial stuff

I'm bored, gonna bump the electronic thread back up

Because why the hell not?

Let's start off with some Aphex Twin

Since he makes such awesome music

And for those of you who find AT to be too slow and boring

Have some Underworld, because they are a classic

I myself happen to produce electronic music under the name Slowriot (which I'm so not plugging right now). It's some ambient stuff. Not too well-produced, but I like how it sounds.

Now for something more professionally made with that new Four Tet compilation.

Four Tet are god damn awesome

And I might have to check out your music sometime

Since I myself, love ambient and other atmospheric electronic genres

If you didn't notice that from my current top 5 electronic list

And also I feel the need to post a Boards of Canada track

Since they don't get too much love in here

is*

But I won't hold that against you. I haven't heard much from the guy, but I know of a song he did on a split with Hella (a math rock band, of all things) that was pretty nice.

I guess that was my first exposure to his work. Need to pick up "There Is Love in You" sometime soon.

God damnit I get it mixed up sometimes

I haven't heard too much from him neither

Only a couple of his tracks that were in my recommendations on YouTube

I listened to them and it thought that the tracks were pretty good

I'm still considering if I should buy a Four Tet album or not

That song kind of reminds of Squarepusher a little bit

He released that one compilation for free on his soundcloud, so you might wanna download that first.

Here's a fun duo. A guitar play and a producer. Not typical "electronic", but I think it still falls under that category.

I don't even like Noise, but this was a fun album.

I HAD TO FALL TO LOSE IT ALL BUT IN THE END IT DOESN'T EVEN MATTER /WRISTS

Yeah I checked out his soundcloud, he has quite a few free stuff

So I just downloaded a random one without thinking

But anyways it's a Portishead kind of day for me

And while I'm listening to Portishead I might as well throw a Massive Attack song on

My day was made when I discovered this song. Crap like this just makes me feel so sentimental that I can't help but love it. smile.png

Like at 1:15 and 1:30, when a new part of the song is introduced and then built up, it's just so awesome.

At 2:35, strings and a new inflection(?) are introduced. Then it jumps back to the original piano tune and builds up again from there.

At 5:40 it goes back to the tune introduced at 1:15 for one last round.

I was also reminded of this song after listening to the above. Is it just the vocals that might sound similar?

Two movies that have fantastic electronic soundtracks, Danny the Dog (called Unleashed in the U.S/Cananda) and The Raid: Redemption which is one of my all time favorite action movies.

Massive Attack actually did almost all the soundtrack for this film

And Mike Shinoda was in charge of the U.S. release soundtrack for The Raid

Eh? Nandatte?

Ok I have a confession to make about electronic music: I actually like Skrillex's music. I'm sorry for failing all you kind ponies... I do like a lot of other electronic music producers and styles though. I'm not a 10 year old who heard Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites and then claims to be an EDM expert. And also, here's a track for everypony.

Skrillex to me, he can make a good melody though he always tends to take them into the wrong way.I used to love Skrillex, 12th Planet, Datsik, Alex S and all of that other dubstep/dubstep related music, but then I turned into a bigger fan of the more atmospheric and experimental stuff. It's honestly understandable as towards why someone would like Skrillex since if the whole "loud high-energy and in your face" kind of bass music is your kind of thing, but for me it isn't.

On a totally different side of things have a Squarepusher track, because Ultravisitor is a masterpiece of an album

You can class witch house music under electronic right? I'm doing it either way because Salem is amazing, its like I'm high without having to actually do drugs.

Just felt like posting the latest episode of Headhunterz' podcast Hard with Style, as he's working on episode 21 which I can't wait for :P

Nu:Logic also released their new album "What I've Always Waited For" yesterday... needless to say, I've been waiting for that album for a while as well.

Another track that I like on that album, which is a roller, is this "Tripping in Space"

Salem are pretty good, I might be getting King Night someday, though on the discussion of Witch House I kind of prefer the stuff that's more on the "outskirts" of Witch House, stuff like XXYYXX and Crystal Castles.

I feel like we need to go old school in here, how about some Kraftwerk and Depeche Mode

Damn I can't wait until I get Delta Machine, definitely one of the albums that I'm excited for the most this year, along with the upcoming Daft Punk one

Eh Zombie Nation isn't one of my personal favorites, but still it isn't that bad

Also have some Aphex Twin, because Richard D. James is an incredible musician
