gaming Most Epic Boss Fight.

Recommended Posts

To this day, I still remember some bosses from my childhood that made me throw the controller through the window. Bowser will always be a symbol of my past struggles from NES games and beyond.(sigh) Those were the days...

Anyway, which boss would you say was pretty much impossible for you to beat or still terrifies you to this day?

Crap most epic boss... so many good ones too few truly remember-able and epic boss fights. The cursed dragon from Dragon's dogma, not exactly from my childhood more from my teens but he's the last boss i remember that had my heart pounding and blood pumping for minutes on end.

I would have to say the final battle against Vergil in Devil May Cry 3. The intense battle, music, and difficult challenge always gave me a terrified feeling when fighting that final boss.

Dante's Inferno - Lucifer. Encountering Lust was a bit unorthodox. And Gluttony was just a screwed up level...

But yeah! Lucifer it is. Epic music, fighting the Lord of Darkness and slaying the beast to enter back into Heaven. What else do you need? :D

I did to me as well. When I first played the game, I thought It was going to an ordinary, typical DMC game. But not like this one! I think DMC 3 was a really good game. Though, I never tried 4 and 5.

You know, a lot of people hate the game, but I think the final battle with Demise was pretty epic. Teleported to a different dimension to fight your toughest foe yet, who's incredibly powerful and is like a dark mirror of yourself. Sorta. I mean, Ghirahim was Demise's Fi. Anyways, I really enjoyed the battle because it was fairly difficult and did indeed feel like a final battle. It was probably one of the most challenging in the game. Plus, that ending. Heck, I was barely hanging on by time I was tossing thunder-powered slashes at Demise and wasn't expecting a final blow powered up by electricity.

Koloktos was pretty cool too. Not as tough, but still memorable and a pretty cool boss fight.

Same here. I first played DMC 4 and it was a pretty good game. When playing DMC 3 I thought it would be somewhere around the same type of game as 4. But after some of the boss fights early on in the game, I was wrong and very intrigued at how this game would turn out. I also remember my first time playing 3 that I had the maximum amount of gold orbs to revive me against Vergil. Even then that wasn't enough and it took me about 10 tries or more to finally take him down. A difficult fight, but a legendary fight in my opinion and one I will never forget.  :)

Dark Bowser (w/ the Dark Star Core) in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, especially the opening dialogue:

Dark Bowser: "Still here? Has the dark power not crushed your puny hopes? Soon this kingdom will vanish along with all who dwell within. And you, too, will sleep eternally in the dark power's embrace!"

Bowser: "GWAHAHA! Great dark hurricane! Seriously, perfect backdrop for an awesome final battle! You really sweat the details! Listen up! You're saying the kingdom will vanish? NOT TODAY! THIS KINGDOM IS ALL MINE! SO YOU VANISH!"

Any of you ever played Monster Hunter? It's jam packed with epic boss battles. :twi:

But the one that caught my eye the most, was definitely the Dalamadur, a giant 440 meter long armoured snake: "A huge elder dragon, massive beyond human comprehension. The only mention of its existence is found in fairy tales, which claim it can warp the very surface of the world and level mountains with a single twitch." The first time I saw it in-game, I was playing online with 3 other people, and I was just like: "...Oh shit." :adorkable:

It's the only possible feeling when seeing it for the first time, it's properly terrifying...

This is the man... :(

One that scared me more was the Deviljho, a giant dinosaur-thing nicknamed "The Great Devourer".

It's description: "The dreaded, nomadic Deviljho have no specific territory of their own. Their muscles swell if provoked, revealing old wounds. They need to feed constantly due to high body heat and can hunt nearby animals to extinction."

Here's a picture:

This sort of stuff makes me want to quit the game. :(

Then again, these aren't the worst... :(

The Dalamadur is ohke, it's big and slow, and you just have to dodge its hellfire. But the Deviljho... Oh hoh... It's fast, it hits hard, and it's really tough.

The first time I had to fight one...it was frenzied. That means it has this disease that makes it faster, more powerful, and even more rampaging than it already was. It was absolutely terrifying. The worst part of it all was that I was playing offline, so no friends to distract it for a minute while I heal up. Nope, just me and...that thing... *shudders*

Yeah, that battle went surprisingly well, I just dodged everything he threw at me, and kept calm. He rampaging, and pretty predictable.

But there is one monster I hate fighting on my own: the Silver Rathalos. It's a silver version of a flying dragon. It's not that scary, untill you fight it by yourself. First, it flies off, so you can't hit it. Then he starts chucking fireballs at you, which is not that much of a problem. But then, the scary stuff happens: he swoops down, with deadly accuracy, you can't really dodge it, and hits you with poisonous claws. The , once you're poisoned and flat on the ground from the hit, he spews fireballs in your face. And then, when you've stood up again, poisoned and on fire, he lands and screeches at the top of its lungs, stunning you for a second or two. While you're stunned, it attacks you again. Then, you've barely gotten any health, you're on fire and poisoned, and there is nowhere to hide, (that's just the area you fight him in, no real cover to hide and heal up,) and that dragon is prepping it's next attack.

I had to try so many times to kill it on my own, it just wasn't fun anymore. :(

Yeah, when you defeat one it's totally worth it.

Except when you're grinding it for the armour set, and you have to kill it about 20 more times. That sucks. :D
