What would your reaction be if EG became part of the show?

they didn't seem to have an issue with killing sombra lol..

 

and that was confirmed that sombra was actually dead.

Hasbro can be weird about things, and the manner in which stuff happens can matter alot. For example, they explicitly told McCarthy "Twilight cannot punch Tirek in the face" yet they've had ponies kick other characters (like the manticore) in the face.

 

I think the way in which Amore was stoned just was alot darker than the way sombra died, so they felt it would be too much IMO

haha, she can't punch him in the face, but he can plow her through a mountain after he hurls her into it and she can pound him into the ground! So funny

 

also a lot of mlp has been pretty dark - to the extent it shocked even the adults - I think some of that stuff would give kids nightmares..

I am still wondering when the human worlds sunset shimmer is going to appear causing temporal distortions with equestria sunset shimmer being there.. I mean, how did they manage to avoid each other for so long?

 

and is their version just as much the egalomaniac as sunset was?

While I would love a crossover, it's for the best they remain separate entities IMO.

 

That being said my point is entirely moot as it can't happen for one reason, the show wants to remain episodic and trying to introduce a whole bunch of stuff from EQG is going to leave you with a rushed episode and potentially alienate anyone who happened not to see the movies. So basically a crossover can only happen on the EQG side.

Absolute disappointment. Not only would that over-complicate everything, but just the title alone of the movies bothers me. My Little PONY: Equestria Girls. Bleh. The EG movies are fine on their own ,they work in that format and I have enjoyed all 3 of them, the latter two were awesome with some issues here and there, but them being part of the main show? That would be terrible. I do not want humans mixed in with the actual FiM at all. It would just seem to break the fantasy element that we know and love.

Yep, it's called My Little Pony, not My Little Human. If EG was thrown into FiM I'd most definitely stop watching.

Give it time; I wouldn't be surprised if that was the plot of the 4th movie, given how sunset has more or less engulfed the series to be about her

and if its not the 4th movie plot, it'll definitely be the fifth.

 

I just hope they don't try and boot human sunset through the portal to be the seventh member of the mane six.

Neutral, I wouldn't care. Because in the end, it's just a mirror somewhere in Canterlot Castle. It wouldn't affect the pony world itself. However I wouldn't watch the EG episodes.

her hair combo still bothers me - I know it's supposed to represent fire - but it just reminds me of ketchup and mustard.

I would be fine with it, and the reaction from the purists would be priceless. More importantly it would put an end to the idea of Equestria Girls not being canon, so the sooner they do it the better. Unite the two franchises as one making it one continuity and one canon.

 

However it would require a considerable amount of time and resources in order to provide enough exposition to make things work, so it would be a challenge should they go that route but not impossible. I think it is a risk worth taking, and a crossover would be a welcome addition.

Actually it seems like Equestria Girls is going to be focusing more on Science Twilight as far as future projects are concerned at this point. 

 

The Equestria Girls series has always been about Sunset and Twilight.

Ask the people who try to argue that it isn't because it is never brought up or referenced in the main show. I figure a direct connection or crossover with the main the show might help put an end to such thinking.

 

As it is Equestria Girls has been stated to be canon several times already by the staff, and the events of such films are still tied to the events within the show.

As far as I am aware of none of the staff comes around here, but they have been kicking around the idea of including Sunset Shimmer in the main show based on some comments made at SDCC 2015.

According to the audio comments on the Friendship Games DVD they don't consider Sunset Shimmer an alicorn in regards to the transformation. Conversely Science Twilight is also not considered to be alicorn either.

 

The biggest reason I think that is holding them back from including Equestria Girls into the main show had to do with viewer accessibility reasons. Hasbro wants people to be able to watch the show without having to watch the films in order to understand it. This is why if they are going to do a such thing the show is going to have to take some time and explain a few things instead of having Sunset pop through the portal without any exposition.

I think is a good idea that FiM could have one or two crossover with EG, but otherwise, they should remain separate in my opinion.

 

PD: I think if either pony or human Pinks got to the portal, it would be comedy gold
