Szmeszek 29 April 22, 2012 Share April 22, 2012 What do you think about believing in Celestia, instead of God/Buddah/Allah/Flying Spaghetti Monster? I know this sounds crazy, but especially if you're an atheist, it will... I don't know, help you? Like 'Sweet Celestia, plz give meh power to write this test on A+' and then you're like 'Yay...!' when it becomes truth. Think through it. But probably no one will think through it, and all of you will be like 'U R CRAZY LULZ'.

Swordfishtrombone 384 April 22, 2012 Share April 22, 2012 I suppose its not much different from anything else really. It shall be declared of Lauren Faust as lord and saviour of all human realms.
Typhoid Libby 1,265 April 22, 2012 Share April 22, 2012 Yes, I do admit it sounds crazy. But so does any belief system. I'd rather do it myself and admit my failures as my own and my successes as my own too. "Welp, no, it was the [iNSERT ICON/SUPERNATURAL ENTITY/SQUIRREL] not you that scored A+." To submit to a greater power is to eschew individuality. Personally I consider "me" in greater value than any random religious icon that is supposed to exist. If I fsk up, I fsk up. If I do good, it was me that did good. And, yeah; I know this sounds crazy, but especially if you're an atheist, it will... I don't know, help you? Like 'Sweet Celestia, plz give meh power to write this test on A+' and then you're like 'Yay...!' when it becomes truth. There was some wonky study in 90's something where two groups, both atheists, would do the same job and had the same day to day chores.Except that the group A said a prayer to the Sun every morning and evening. After three months, group A was more happier, felt their life as more fulfilling and were more motivated. So, basically, praying makes you more happy whether or not the belief is real. Word-to-mouth of course, read it inna book ages ago that did not list sources. Still, written by a atheist, which makes it a bit more credible, in my opinion as far as unconfirmed rumours go. 5 FORUM GODDAMMIT
Szmeszek 29 April 22, 2012 Author Share April 22, 2012 So a whole religion based around Celestia? It would be so happy. Yeah, but would you belong to this religion? At the moment, there is only 1 Brony who belongs to this religion, but I'm sure some of you were thinking about this before. And how should we name it or something?
Zalgo 593 April 22, 2012 Share April 22, 2012 I believe in the multiverse theory, thus I believe in celestia. But I wouldn't worship her as a god. If I was in her realm (which is impossible) I would worship her like a princess.
Daring Do 195 April 22, 2012 Share April 22, 2012 Sure, I would worship her! In fact, I already wrote something about worshiping her! Ahem!: Bless upon thee, the Sun's Matron. Bless upon thee, holder of the great light that supplies life to all upon this damned planet. Let it be heard that your generosity knows no bounds, for, despite our sins, you carry upon your back the weight of the world, for vice and blasphamy are no light deeds. Bless upon thee your guidance through day, as you have done for times beyond man, and times before worship. Guide us through the world of sorrows, providing means of sight to see the purity of your embrace. Allow that embrace to warm our souls and continue to bring unity to the world through teachings. Let friendship, your most guided of teachings, be understood throughout the dark lands, and let your faith spread, and purify all that is black. 4 Great adventuring for great treasures!....Except when I'm hurt... cuteycindyhoney 13,320 April 23, 2012 Share April 23, 2012 At the risk of sounding mean, it's things like this that give fuel to all the haters out there. I love the show dearly, but I do know that Celestia is a fictional character. It makes you sound like a true nutcase to start talking about worshiping a cartoon character like a God. 2 Thank you Sparklefan1234!!!

Cosmic Charlie 129 April 23, 2012 Share April 23, 2012 It would certainly be entertaining. It would be quite a thing to look at the world, look at all the possible explanations for things existing and being the way they are, and come to the conclusion that Princess Celestia is the most fruitful icon for prayer and worship. Tiina Brown 67 April 23, 2012 Share April 23, 2012 No, please, do not go there .... Even though i have the One God Faith in the bottom of my theistic views, i prefer to not let it impact my life too much ... Scientology is made up through and through, with a fake core, but a truer facade (some things do work, from what i've heard), flying spa ... FSM is a joke, and to bring Celestia into that mess .... If she would exist, she'd deserve better. There was some wonky study in 90's something where two groups, both atheists, would do the same job and had the same day to day chores. NeverNeverland 1,940 April 23, 2012 Share April 23, 2012 In all seriousness, I don't like the idea that a fictional character in a cartoon show should be heralded as another deity along the lines of the Lord, Buddha or Allah or whomever. Why do people keep on forgetting that this is a show for young girls. There's no hidden message, no secret code, nothing - Princess Celestia is just that, a princess, that has control over Equestria and is tasked with raising the sun. Nothing more. See what i bolded and my inflicted notes. When he say purify all that is black, he means those with evil intentions in their heart, not the literal color. Steel Accord 6,660 April 23, 2012 Share April 23, 2012 (edited) Darn! You got me! It's not my intention or anything, but for the past week, which has been wonderfully warm and sunny, every time I walked outside and felt the glowing warmth, the cool breeze, and the brilliant light; guess who comes to mind? Same with the warm nights. Jeweled skies, the chirping of nocturnal life, with the beautiful glowing moon shading the world in rest. THE BLASPHEMY HAS BEEN DOUBLED! For awhile I just thought it was innocuous association. Then a couple of days ago . . . *Deep breath* "What a beautiful day! Thank you Celesti- . . . Oh God." My words, verbatim. After, yet another, existential freakout due to ponies. (The first upon realizing I had a very real crush on Fluttershy.) This one briefer but more severe than the first. I had come to realize that God is an all powerful force. If God wants to be an Alicorn He/She/It very well can. Being Catholic, Jesus is very much the "Face" of God. (No pun intended) But He's just one part of the Trinity. Who says God the Father, of the Holy Spirit can't be Celestia? The Pope, and all the clergy of all the faiths in the world don't know anymore than I do. That's the mystery of faith! At the very least, you could say she's an angel. Praying to saints specifically certainly isn't wrong. To be more direct. Revering the Princesses as symbols of good virtues to live by, and look to in times of despair and joy, is just as valid as any other spiritual icon. Honestly, when it comes to seeing characters in this context you could do a lot worse. In one sense . . . . . . . or another. bloodyfox 65 April 23, 2012 Share April 23, 2012 It could be like a mock religion like Pastafarian. At least I wouldn't truly believe in it but I think it would be fun to have an official MLP religion. Although I would prefer Luna. It could be a polytheistic religion with Celestia and Luna being co-ruling deities.
