If she now become a immortal, is just a sad thing, because the death wait on future to all her friends, is much sad to think about this because this i think she isnt... So far, the only ones we know of that are, are the Royal Sisters and that is it. I think the reasoning behind this is because Cadence and Twilight were not initially alicorns, they had to earn that right. Malinter 3,064 November 12, 2015 Share November 12, 2015 Twilight and Cadance are not immortal alicorns. In fact, Celestia and Luna my not be truely immortal either. In the "Journal of the Royal Sisters" book, Starswirl explains how as alicorns, their magic is rejuvinated everytime they raise the sun/moon. In effect their magic will never run out so long as they continue this charge so in theory, if Luna and Celestia where to stop raising the sun and moon. My headcanon is that Celestia and Luna are using magic to maintain their youth, and that living indefinitely is a lifestyle choice for alicorns---a choice Twilight probably won't make. As far as McCarthy cares it doesn't matter since it'll never come up in show and she doesn't have to address it and using a vague response is best. This is what i think is the truth and McCarthy has no hard canon in mind for if she is or if she isn't.B. Artificial alicorns aren't immortal, only true alicorns are. This seems the second most likely, though I kind of dislike it; an alicorn that worked to ascend isn't any less worthy of immortality than one that was just plopped out because of her mother's genes. C. Twilight will die in some manner in battle or in a sacrifice. D. The other 5's life forces will be extended via magic of some type, like anti-age spells or tying them to an artifact or object. Given how we've been shown other ponies that seem to defy aging in Sombra and then Hope in the comics, this isn't out of the question. (And yes, sombra is revealed to be another species in the comics, but Hope ISN'T, so there's still her with comic canon. WITHOUT comic canon, then you have sombra still being nigh immortal without being an alicorn) E. the other 5 become alicorns. VERY unlikely. But does this mean that Twilight as an Alicorn, now has her life expectancy is increased or similar a pure born-an-alicorn alicorn? We just don't know.. but it's sad to think that Twilight might lose her friends in time, just as Celestia and Luna probably have in the past.. Perhaps, they would unlock a special power to help them all maintain their lives for a good period of time. You know, to continuously serve their purpose as the Elements of Harmony just as Princess Celestia and Luna serves their purpose of raising and lowering the moon. Who knows, maybe all of Equestria might be affected by the same magical forces mentioned. I for one do not wish to, you know.. imagine them dying. I would be a truly sad occasion if they do.
