OC creation team

So, the basic idea is that we have a team of people and make OC's. We'll do challanges as trying to create a good OC in an hour, and sometimes split in to teams and have competitions. This is prely for fun and i'm hoping to at least gather a small Group

 

We'll be doing most of this over Skype by the way

Well, once the OCs are created, what shall we do with them? My suggestion is to create another thread so users can claim them. Also, what if we aren't avaliable to Skype? I suggest a backup source of communication. Maybe kik? The thing I am most concerned about is the 'under an hour' thing. I am very detailed when drawing my OCs. I fear I may exceed the time.

I'd like to join in a challenge planning and judging capacity if possible. I might eventually participate in the challenges, too, but right now it takes me a little too long to create a good OC. Maybe for some of the challenges we can start with a request from someone who actually needs an OC. I do have some basic ideas for some of the challenges I'd like to see already.

Well, the one hour thing is just a random challange we might do some time for fun. And I draw as well, I know it takes alot of time, But you can always try to be loose and try to pull out a sketch as fast as possible.

 

We'll simply have to make this work with Skype since it's the absolutely most conveniant way to do it. We could have a Kik group for planning, but not for creating.

I feel like it's missing design elements, but other the that I think it looks fine. But we can Always change it for special challanges and such. But for starters I liked the idea of requests.

I think I have it fixed by simply adding an "Extra" section. We can add or remove categories based on how often they're used. As far as request Challenges go, I would say the person who requested it has the final say in who wins, but for anything else, the judges must be neutral. They should be excluded from the creation process and only be presented with the finished characters.

 

Maybe someone can start a YouTube channel for this at some point, too. If we get someone who is up to the task that is. (I'm only talking about someone judging the OCs for the videos, not showing the planning and creating)

Announcing Theme Weeks!!!

 

Eeyup, it's the first week of the new year and we're starting something I like to call a "Weekly Theme." Each week, we'll post a theme. At some point during the week we suggest you try to create an OC following that theme, it could be fun! If we get enough OCs submitted (and if we feel up for it), we may even select some of our favorites at the end of the week. If we do, whoever gets the most votes wins! Oh, "What does the winner get?" you ask? Well, actually, nothing... At least you'll get bragging rights! And one of us will post a comment on your OC's page saying that you won! Remember, the Global Rules apply no matter where you are on MLPforums. Also, please create your characters in the appropriate database on this site as specified in the announcement of the theme. Images are not required if you give a good enough description. Please post a link to your OC here if you want us to see it. Any details labeled as "(unspecified)" mean that the decision is totally yours.

 

This Week: It's UNIQUE Week!!!

 

Since we're starting a new year, it only seems fitting that we each try something new. The idea of Unique Week is to create an OC that is unique in that it is the first OC created of its species. Be creative, the point is to do something that has not been done before. Not only will you be creating a new species, but you will also be creating a character, the character is what's important. Specific descriptions of the species as a whole should be kept in the 'Other' section on the character's page.

Unique Week is meant to last all week. Any time you wish to submit an OC for it should be fine. I just think misunderstood what my plan was for this. I'm waiting to hear back from him about the above post.

Bring the THUNDER!!!

This Week: It's Thunder Week!!!

 

Continuing the weekly theme, the theme for our second week is "Thunder." We'll be focusing on OCs with talents or jobs relating to thunder. Wether you want to create a Pegasus with a knack for making thunderstorms, a unicorn who can shoot lightning from her horn, or an Earth pony electrician who carries a tesla cannon, any OC that fits the theme is welcomed (as long as it fits the rules of MLPforums). Oh, and trust me when I say, I revealed this theme to NOPONY!!! P-Jay is no exception... I didn't tell him, I swear... It's just a strange coincidence... Nor did I get the idea from him, I came up with the themes before he created his OC.

Personality: *angry buzzing* territorial, and bitter at ponies. 

 

the wisps were a species that was always around, in olden times. back in the tribe days, before the pegasi had established the rainbow factory, they were allied with the wisps. the wisps shared secrets to creating the clouds, teaching the pegasi how to make them. the wisps would then electrify them, making the stormclouds. they had a cheery alliance...before war starting to brew between the tribes. fearful of losing, if battle were to break out, the pegasi tried to use the wisps, and enchant their weapons and armor with thunder buffs. outraged, the wisps declined. and when the pegasi tried to force them, they fled. 

 

they ran, until they were certain the ponies wouldnt follow. Thunder Peaks, an incredibly dangerous mountain that the Yaks were afraid to climb. they claimed a god lived on top...and the wisps discovered nothing on the top, but instead, became the 'god' rumored to be on the top. a swarm, ruling the mountain...that doesnt take too kindly to trespassers. 

 

they are but a myth to modern-day ponies....

This Week: It's Geek Week!!!

 

From the totally Adorkability of a bookworm to the downright insanity of a mad scientist, this week is all about geeks. These ponies (or other creatures) are known for their intelligence, but not necessarily their wisdom. Wether you want to create an awarded inventor, a twisted tinkerer, or a studious student, smarts are everything. Their knowledge doesn't have to be focused in the sciences either, they could choose the field of magic, or even law. Awaken your inner geek, and most importantly, have fun. Mwahahahaha!
