Australia Day banner submissions needed

Time for a new banner push folks. Australia Day is about a week away 

 

For those that don't know. 

 

 

 

Australia Day is the official National Day of Australia. Celebrated annually on 26 January, it marks the anniversary of the 1788 arrival of the First Fleet of British Ships at Port Jackson, New South Wales, and the raising of the Flag of Great Britain at that site by Governor Arthur Phillip.

 

 

Yay wikipedia! Now, back to business. Banners! There are a lot of Aussie members that consider this site their home away from home, and we want to celebrate that segment of the community. So if you are design inclined and can ponify the land down under, check out this topic on banner size and requirements. Since this theme is for the land of the boomerang, make sure you have elements central to Australia. These could include

 

• Local fauna (Aussie critters are cyoot ... except the spiders. Buck that)
• Traditional Aussie objects (boomerangs, didgeridoo, vegemite, fairy bread, meat pies, etc)
• Locations (Sydney Opera House, Great Barrier Reef*, Ayers Rock/Uluru, the Outback, etc)
• Traditional native art (the indigenous Australians have a distinct art style that may would well for a banner).  
• Inverted stuff, cause they are upside down 
• Reverse flushing toilets and a big boot (because Simpsons)

 

So yeah, that last one was a joke, but you get the idea. Australia is one of the most mysterious and beautiful places on our planet. Mixing it with Ponies sounds great. The best banner received by midnight Aussie time on the 26th will be used by us. To submit just PM the Admins listed here. Make sure that all four of us are on the PM.

As long as you include first-nation cultures in it (Aboriginal, for example).

If you are doing Australia Day, ALL Austrailian cultures should be included. Not just the immigrated culture from Europe.
