technology Galaxy S7 Leak

So I follow phones a lot considering I sell them for a living and I'm a huge technology buff. A while ago I made a post about if the Galaxy S6 was worth it and compared it to the iPhone 6S and talked about the high and low points of the phone. Well April is coming closer which is right around when Samsung prepares to launch their flagship phones and there was a leak of information on the Galaxy S7. We obviously don't know everything yet, and what we do know could change before the final release but here are some of the key points I noticed:

  • Shipping with Android 6.0 - This is a somewhat risky move. Google has apparently been having some issues with 6.0 locking up devices, so hopefully the bugs are worked out before this move. No doubt eventually S6 users will be able to upgrade to 6.0 soon.
  • Slightly smaller frame for the phone but same screen size - This could be an effort to make the phone lighter.
  • Water and dust resistant - Vast improvement over the S6 since the iPhone 6S is more or less 90% waterproof.
  • 12MP camera - A step down from the S6's 16MP, however this could either be misinformation or they are focusing on bringing imaging features to the camera rather than focusing on MP.
  • Exynos 8 Octa 8890 processor at 2.3GHz - Faster than the S6.
  • 4GB RAM - 1GB more than the S6 and several more than the iPhone.
  • microSDXC support - Possibly as a result of backlash for removing it from the S6 so this will make the S7 a great phone in terms of longevity because you can expand it to the nth degree. SDXC supports up to 2TB of SD (when they finally come out). Currently there is a 200GB SD on the market, so you can get a good chunk of storage making it more than the iPhone's 128GB phone.
  • 3000 MAh battery - A step up from the S6 which could be a result of complaints of poor battery life without power saving mode on.
  • 1440 x 2560 resolution - The same as the S6, but this could be to save battery life.
  • USB Type C - Faster transfers, and reversible like the Lightning connector.

What do you guys think? If this truly is the S7 do you think Apple is going to have to step up their game?
