I'm going the other direction - I have a generator for those long outages. For something like 30 minutes a UPS is enough assuming the batteries are in good shape.

There is no way I could fit everything to a raspeberry. Fitting almost everything to a new server would be possible, but inconvenient (and expensive).

My reply was quite lazy. So my server is a PBX (FreePBX) and I want my phone system to be “alive” during power outages.

With the chip shortage, it is not easy to find/buy a Raspberry Pi. And then, trying to keep electronic with varying current alive using batteries that change voltage over time… I am asking for trouble.

Not a problem at all, as long as you use a UPS or just a DC-DC converter (for devices that need low voltage), just get one with low voltage cut-out to not over-discharge the batteries.
