Chaton 3,766 February 16, 2016 Share February 16, 2016 So, Weirdmageddon part three aired last night brining a close to Gravity Falls season 2, and the show itself. What did you all think of the finale? And what is your reaction to the fact that the show is finally over? I for one am happy that they planned for it to only have two series and that they brought it to a proper close. Sure, I'd love for there to be another mini-series about Stanford and Stanley's adventures on the seas and maybe Dipper and Mabel coming back in a years time, but that won't happen. http://www.themarysue.com/gravity-falls-is-over/ 4 Art by DoeKitty
Sunny Fox 5,961 February 16, 2016 Share February 16, 2016 Seconded... there's nothing worse than a show that outstays its welcome. PinkiePie97 913 February 16, 2016 Share February 16, 2016 It was a great finale. I'm sad to see it go but at least it got to end before it went into decay. 1 Cartoon Info - A blog where I post info on cartoons I'm interested in writing about. Follow me on Twitter and Tumblr. I mean, I wouldn't mind the occasional mini-episode like 5-10 mins long with a couple of tiny things. But if the series went on, nah. I'd still watch it of course, but it would go to far. Sunny Fox 5,961 February 16, 2016 Share February 16, 2016 Well, Calvin and Hobbes is a newspaper strip that was created in 1985, ran for ten years (with the cartoonist fighting to keep the rights to his own characters, so as not to allow the syndicators to exploit the popularity of the strip for commercial reasons) and ended in 1995, with the cartoonist Bill Watterson making the decision to end his own comic with a bang and not a whisper boop-boop. Thus "quitting while ahead" and not becoming a zombie franchise... as it were. 4 Happy minion of The Fabulous One! PinkiePie97 913 February 16, 2016 Share February 16, 2016 Forgot to mention that if there is some sort of continuation that I'd be interested. Like Stan and Ford's adventures in the arctic. I'd like to see that. 1 Cartoon Info - A blog where I post info on cartoons I'm interested in writing about. Follow me on Twitter and Tumblr. Catpone Cerberus 23,799 February 16, 2016 Share February 16, 2016 I think finale was good. It's sad that it ended but better that than getting bored to show that goes forever. “Cats!” “Cats!” “Music!” “Cats!” “Cats!” “(^・ω・^ )ノ” Ask me something! https://mlpforums.com/topic/139270-ask-the-cerberus/#entry4129993Signature by @Stevonnie
Sunny Fox 5,961 February 16, 2016 Share February 16, 2016 Hmm. In all seriousness... *spoilered for those who might not have seen it yet* I think they kind of undid some of the awesomeness of the finale by returning Gruncle Stan's memory (which should really have brought Bill back too, if you think about it). I guess Disney needed a happy ending, but I think bittersweet (a Gruncle Stan who saved the world, but had to give up his memories of the summer to do so) would have been a bitter better way to finish it. 4 Happy minion of The Fabulous One! In all honesty, I don't agree nor disagree with you. I would have been happy with that or the way it went. Though I do prefer the way it went, it meant the two could fulfil their childhood dreams. Shift 4,277 February 16, 2016 Share February 16, 2016 I'm not glad to see Gravity Falls over, but it ended on a very high note. It's best to end a cartoon than have it run itself into the ground. A short, but amazing series is more fondly remembered than a series that was long, yet dragged itself on and on and on and on before dying. So I think it was a very good decision to have Gravity Falls end here; the finale was also a very fun and fulfilling episode. Although, I will agree, a short mini-series or a few silly clips to give an epilogue of some sorts would be a very fun idea to do that might tie up some loose ends. I'd also like to know what Dipper's real name is... Well, onto new and grander things! I'm excited to see the next show Hirsch comes up with; i'm positive it'll be just as spectacular as Gravity Falls was. 3 Have the courage to think and act on your own. And have the courage to disobey.

Moved to Elsewhere 11,331 February 16, 2016 Share February 16, 2016 The show had a good run and ended in quite possibly the best way. I'll miss this show, but the ending makes me happy. It's funny how the show is only 2 seasons long when the show aired over the spam of nearly 4 years. I guess Disney saw how big of a fandom it had and purposely spread out the new episodes to make it feel longer.

They managed to time it all perfectly so that the fandom had time to spread their proverbial wings before ending it. On the other hand, I really want to know what that anomoly was. 2 Art by DoeKitty

Minepro 107 February 16, 2016 Share February 16, 2016 I personally think Weirdmageddon 3 was a fantastic finale! One of the best endings to a series I've ever seen. I'm so glad as well that they didn't drag Gravity Falls on and make it boring to watch. Unlike a certain Cartoon Network show that I've heard terrible things about...

Watterson had some real integrity.

Unr3alGamer 230 February 16, 2016 Share February 16, 2016 There have only been 2 series finales to TV shows that I would consider to be proper and satisfying conclusions to their shows (Breaking Bad and Avatar: The Last Airbender). Well, after last night, now it's 3: Gravity Falls. It was immensely satisfying and incredibly heartfelt. Best possible way to end the series.
