When the news has shots of a dead body, human, horse, dog, cat, etc., they blur it out, yet, they can shkw a decomposing whale carcass with rotted flesh and chunks taken out of it, with no blurred out effect at ll? What's the standard?

Well, I suppose like if its not showing blood or something. I dunno what the standard is, honestly, but its all pretty gruesome so I kind of stay away from it all. I hate even seeing a dead animal in the road...

I'm sure the "whale carcass with rotten flesh" was just a rare occurrence on the news and not the standard occurrence.

As for the standard for showing death in the news, I suppose it depends on the news company. In general though, I think it's safe to blur gory and otherwise disturbing scenes on the news in case children happen to see it and for the sake of viewers who would rather not see such scenes.

not to be insensitive for animal lovers but seeing a carcass of an whale is like going to a fish market and seeing all these dead fishes. While showing a person or people's carcass on a news is more less subtle to most viewers. Also it shows some respects for the dead. But that depends on what country you live in too. Some might not be 'shy' to show it compared to others.

I am pretty sure that’s the line of thinking with that particular news company, as well. Take bugs into consideration, too. Do we care if they die a horrible death? Not really. Animals people tend to love and people are usually censored since there is more caring involved.

I think that showing wild animals dead is okay, because it's just nature. People have more emotional connection to a pet or domesticated animal and (obviously) much much more towards a person, so it would be more distressing.

Friendship isn't always easy. But it's definitely worth fighting for.

Let me tell you, death in movies can hit hard depending on who dies and the situation. For me, it's when you have that emotional connection with the character. That's what hits hard the most. Whether human or animal...it just cuts that deep for me. However, in some cases, it can ruin a movie...especially if it's the main character in an unexpected matter...

Does it could if I say Danganronpa levels of standard? ...no? ok then

Though in all honesty, only if it's not done in an overblown fashion or as a cheap death, like if the protag just escaped a temple just to get shot in the head
