Sonic Shimmer 4,131 August 21, 2020 Share August 21, 2020 No way. I'm left leaning on most political issues and I believe in equality for all, but SJWs stand for things like censorship and silencing of alternate views, which I think is wrong. 2 Friendship isn't always easy. Yakamaru 3,127 August 25, 2020 Share August 25, 2020 Hmmm. Back in the day I probably would be able to call myself a social justice warrior due to being far more left-leaning than what I am now. “Discovery is dangerous . . . but so is life. Kyoshi Frost Wolf 41,361 August 25, 2020 Share August 25, 2020 The original definition? Yes. The current bastardized version from the internet? No. The original core values of "social justice" are actually a good thing. Not only that but quite a few "anti-SJW's" are now way worse than the SJW's they claim to be against. These people will lose their minds if a gay character is in anything now. Only thing they care about are their own justifications for homophobia, transphobia and racism.
Rebel the Wolfgirl 5,601 August 25, 2020 Share August 25, 2020 I'm with @Kyoshi on this one - I consider myself an SJW in the original sense, and despise the bastardized version spread as a snarl word by those who want excuses to be racist, anti-LGBT, or just general assholes. BUT I also have a low opinion of that vocal minority of "SJWs" who are very much the stereotype the bastardized definition describes, generally because they (like anti-SJWs) tend to be assholes who tend to see things that aren't there to fit their own agendas (take the Uzaki-chan hullabaloo as a prime example). 3 Official Discordian pope. An addendum to this post: I am not an SJW. But what I AM is a progressive. I DO want there to be a system that works for everyone and not just certain castes/races/genders (important distinction)/orientations/etc. what I DON'T want is for any said group to be more "equal" than everyone else is. I think that the core values behind social justice are actually quite positive, even if there's the woke crowd taking them to absurd extremes without actually acknowledging the real context of the issues of, often times inequity, at hand. I wholeheartedly find the entirety of the establishment of American politics too far right and too draconian (in a sense) for my tastes. What the woke crowd doesn't do is address that problem in any meaningful way. Just throwing more symbolism for our centrist fake left corporate Democrats to take hold of so they don't have to say goodbye to their corruption and corporate socialism. The pressing problem isn't race, it isn't sex, and it isn't sexual identity. The pressing problem is POVERTY. The POOR. And the way they've been so bleakly mistreated by a system that doesn't care for your own well-being.

Kyoshi Frost Wolf 41,361 August 27, 2020 Share August 27, 2020 4 hours ago, Will Guide said: What exactly are the original core values of social justice? The original idea is quite simple; Social justice is to fight against garbage like racism and homophobia, among other things. To fight for people's rights and to fight for their inclusion regardless of their race, sexual identity or gender identity. Not "forced inclusion" but fighting for them to be allowed to be included into something where they wouldn't be before. Look at something like the Civil Rights Movement or the gay rights movement or even Black Lives Matter now. That all is what social justice is supposed to be. Fighting for social progress and fighting against bigotry and social division. Obviously the message has gotten entirely muddled and confused with the small minority of people that want forced inclusion into everything, but the so called "anti-SJW's" that hate those people have already appointed themselves to even worse extremes. Now those people lose their mind if any inclusion happens. They immediately look for reasons to dismiss things like gay or trans rights or fighting against racism and they do so at every turn. It is such a shame that these are the people that ruin what social justice is supposed to mean. One might say it was the over-reacting people wanting hardcore forced inclusion, but they've always been a small amount of people relatively speaking. It was the hardcore "anti-SJW" movement that started to deem anything they didn't like as "Social Justice" and in the process they've destroyed what that phrase even means. They are the type of people that will look at something like what happened to George Floyd and try desperately to justify the fact that he was murdered. Fighting for people like Floyd is true social justice. Fighting for those discriminated against for being gay or trans is true social justice. Fighting for those discriminated against simply because of their race or skin color is true social justice. It isn't whatever those morons over at Reddit think it is. SparklingSquirrels 21,332 August 27, 2020 Share August 27, 2020 I also support social justice/would consider myself a progressive, but not to the point of always needing to be politically correct or wanting to censor other’s views. ֍֎֍֎
