gaming E3 2016

The magical time of the year for gaming is soon upon us once again! The glorious E3 conferences are set to start in June and as always, I am excited for it. It feels like a celebration of gaming itself and with gaming being my most beloved hobby, I can't help but get giddy thinking about it.

Anyone else excited for the show? What are hoping to see from any of the companies?

I personally hope that Microsoft is planning something for backwards compatibility. Perhaps announcing a bunch of new games for it, as right now, they are trickling in very slowly. That is at least one thing I am hoping for.

I'm excited to see what Nintendo has in st-*No NX, Zelda only*

:(

Still, the new Zelda still looks baller, and I love Zelda, so I'm still looking for it

Hoping for continued BC on Microsoft's part, I have plenty of 360 games I'd love to come back too, especially as far as collections go(I still have the DMCHD and MGSHD collections and would love to play them again). Also, more Scalebound and some new projects from them

Other hopefuls from other devs like a new Syphon Filter by Sony or a new Megaman by Capcom, though I'm not expecting them unfortunately.

Also hoping to see if Platinum is gonna make another Transformers game, heard it's supposed to be a trilogy. If not, I'd at least love to see another High Moon game

I'm excited to see Bethesda and Taleworlds show off their games.

Bethesda doesn't normally do E3. They aren't they type of company to book an E3 conference unless they are revealing something good. The only big game they have set to release is Dishonored 2. They will definitely show that, but from the reports I've heard, they have an entire hour booked. No way they will take an entire hour to show off one game. Many are hoping they might reveal something about Elder Scrolls 6. There is way too much evidence to deny that they are working on it, but nothing points to them being far enough along in development to reveal it yet. We can only hope.

Taleworlds has Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord in development right now. It is supposed to release sometime this year. They recently announced they will be at E3 talking about Mount and Blade. Hopefully a release date.

Take Two, Rockstar's parent company, will also be at E3 and they said they will be there in a "big way". Many folks are hoping for them to finally announce a sequel to Red Dead Redemption.

I am also eager for some more info on Mafia 3, which will be released in October.

Of course I'm excited for E3 this year.

Some of the things I hope to see would be:

Microsoft - Halo Wars 2 gameplay, The announcement of a slim version console and a whole slew of new BC games.

EA - Skate 4, Titanfall 2 gameplay or a new SSX

Ubisoft - A new Splinter Cell game is all I want from them.

Sony - Destiny expansion news, Final Fantasy 7 remake news, Kingdom Hearts 3 gameplay

Some memorable cringy moments - remember HULK SMASH from last year?

Besides that, I am looking at Ubisoft in hopes that they will reveal more about the latest Ghost Recon, or at EA for more information about Battlefield 1.

With Uncharted 4 out, and MGSV last year there isn't much this year, except the usual COD/BF and the new Tomb Raider finally for PS4 too.

Legends never die. Ponies neither.

What I most interested in seeing is what Sony and Microsoft's new hardware is going to be. I've read a lot of articles about Sony's PS4 Neo or whatever they call it and I want to know more. I also want to see if MS's console is simply a redesigned Xbox One or if they're going to try to do the same thing that Sony is doing.

Capcom - Any news about a new Resident Evil would be nice whether it be an RE2 remake or RE7. I'd also like to know if there are any new Street Fighter V announcements regarding other characters they are adding to the game.

Telltalegames - The Walking Dead Season 3 for sure.

Yeah I am hoping they vastly extend the backwards compatibility program it would be a nice treat.

That said, I am looking forward to E3, which I shall be watching with my wife. Some of things I am most excited about:

  • Bethesda is supposedly releasing a new IP not related to Doom, Elder Scrolls or Fallout.
  • Bioware is introducing a new IP.
  • PS4 Neo.
  • PS4 VR.
  • Release date for Horizon Zero Dawn, possibly with new footage.
  • Possible more footage and release time for The Last Guardian.
  • Zelda footage, though I'm not "as" pumped for that, knowing that we will only be seeing the Wii U version.
  • Capcom will be talking about RE2 Remake no doubt, which as much as I have a love hate relationship with Capcom and doing nothing but remaking games, I am interested to see what they bring to the table.
  • I am Setsuna. It will be given an official release date no doubt, and I want to play the ever living hell out of it.
  • Possible more footage of FF7 Remake.
  • I would say Kingdom Hearts 3, but let's be honest: they aren't announcing it's release. That game is in development hell.
  • Persona 5.
  • Supermassive Games is supposed to talk about their new games.
  • What plans Techland has for a Dying Light sequel.
  • Microsoft Holo Lens again.
  • Resident Evil 7 (maybe)
  • Detroit: Become Human, please I need to see more of it.

Possible more footage and release time for The Last Guardian.

I'm afraid the game will continue to be stuck in Development Hell.

Japan, where Yo-Kai Watch's second movie has more success than The Force Awakens :umad:

E3 is certainly an interesting time, although it seems many publishers are now doing their own things as opposed to a normal conference this year.

All I really care about is the Xbox conference as per usual, plus a gander into Ubisoft and EA for news on some of the big games they have coming up like GR Wildlands, Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2.

But eh, not too pumped honestly at this point.

So it's pretty much confirmed we will see the new Zelda and Kingdom Hearts III.

That's all pretty exciting, but as for the normal E3 prospect of new titles, it looks like that won't be the case this year.

This is my favorite time of year. All the exciting gaming stuff happens. What I want to see is Wild Arms 6 but I doubt that'll ever happen.

Maybe getting to see what they're gonna do with Resident Evil 2. That would be nice considering they've announced that they're not just gonna make a REmake 2.

I'm kinda hoping a new Shin Megami Tensei is shown somewhere but I won't hold out hope for that one with Persona 5 coming soon. Maybe TGS.

I've been hearing rumblings on a Watch Dogs 2 that's supposed to do some things differently. Curious to how that'll turn out. I loved the first one.

I'm really hoping SEGA will reveal a new game for Sonic's 25th Anniversary, 4 months has passed and we still hadn't gotten anything from them about a new Sonic game.

Oh, and I'm also hoping that Rockstar Games would somehow reveal Bully 2, which may or may not happen at all, but it would be so damn cool if they did.

I really hope the 25th Anniversary doesn't just pass us by.

It's more likely Red Dead Redemption 2 will be shown since that's actually been talked about.

More Final Fantasy plz <3

Also I really want to hear more about For Honor, that game looked pretty interesting from what little we saw of it last E3.

I want to see what new has MS, i mean, their next movement. The last months they were moving exclusive games from Xbox to PC, so maybe they will move the Xbox branch to PC or they will keep in the consoles. Also Halo Wars 2 is interesting and maybe we could see the MCC or Halo 3 on PC (It has happened near 10 years since the Halo 3 launch).

On the other hand, Battlefield 1 seems amazing, and I hope that Nintendo shows something great.

I wanna see some Tales of Berseria gameplay this year. The game looks fucking amazing for story.

At this point I'm actually hoping they don't waste any time on Final Fantasy XV and let the game come out. I'm ready for it now.

I'm definitely looking forward to For Honor even though I hate playing multiplayer most of the time. The game just looks that good.

Kingdom Hearts III.

Where did you hear that? I didn't see much about that. Not saying you're wrong, I was just  curious how that slipped under my radar.

I mean we know they won't set a release date lol.

About Resident Evil 7: Yes, it's in development. The entire game will go back to RE's horror roots and (essentially) be a clean slate.

They said the same thing about RE6 and we all know how that turned out. I'll believe it when I see it.

That said, hearing that it's gonna have some of the talent behind PT does give me a little hope

Same here. I actually don't want them to "go back to the roots". Any series I've heard about doing that failed horribly. The backpedaling doesn't work out. They should just move forward.

But I'm also one of the ones who liked RE6 and hope RE7 is the next step from that.
