I've been wondering how Sunset managed to get a place at Canterlot High and how she managed to provide the necessary documents like a birth certificate,passport and stuff like that.Also how did she pay her school fees and where does she live?

I'd like to believe that when she was banished there she was given some provisions, or maybe there are less strict regulation for school at canterlot high. I'm curious about how she is able to afford an apartment and seemingly have free time after school. She also isn't shown having a job. She was also able to adapt relatively quickly. i'm curious how long it took her to get used to writing and existing in a human world.

Maybe things work differently there? It doesn't look like a boarding school or anything so she probably has an apartment.  Pony's mature a little faster,  and with Sunset being a bit older than Twilight probably figured out a job and an apartment and everything. But I'd love to see how she canonly exists in the EG world.

What I wonder more though, just how young was Sunset when she went to this world? She used to be Celestia's personal pupil, which means she was probably her pupil before Twilight. Now Twilight became Celestia's pupil when she was just a little filly... so just how old is Sunset? And how young was she when she went there?

At the very least they're more common. Dragons regularly consume entire hoards of them and they're still around every other corner.

 

Come to think of it, given that Equestria has rock farms, implying that rocks grow organically like plants, it's not such a far-off thought that gems can be grown as well. It would certainly explain why there are so many of them.

I don't think it actually matters at all in their human world. Twilight didn't even exist in their world until she came over, and she didn't even apply to the school if I remember correctly, she just fucking slept in the library and everyone knew her.

I like to think that on the first day she went full survival mode and foraged/hunted food in the forest and constructed as makeshift shelter, which she then upgraded into a hand-build log cabin. She would have subsisted on fresh-stream or lake water and fish and fruits. I'm not sure if she'd have hunted mamals or birds or anything, as although I  don't watch FiM, I vaguely recall learning Ponies are not carnivores or even omnivores. I am aware that Fish is technically meat, but Fish is often lumped into it's own category.

 

She would eventually make some money by selling wood sculptures of excellent quality.

 

This all assumed she adapts to using her new body/hands rather quickly.

I personally ship her as a girth whom nearly starved to death her first year, lie cheated and stole, only to get caught and shoved into school with a Juvie officer as her caretaker. This assumes she turned "18" at the start of EQ girls, thus showing her "freedom".

 

Then again I write her as a tomboy who also works on cars, likes to box, and in my fiction, 7 years down the road post High School, is married to Adagio Dazzle, taken the name Sunset Dazzle, has a pair of love handles from birthing there first magical offspring "Sunray" and loves to watch foot ball, drink beer, eat pizza and is way to much of a flirt with her gorgeous mate in public and proud of her family then any female should be. With just enough hair primping and overly plump femine curves as not to have her come across as too much of a butch, but clearly the "man" in her marriage to Dagi.

And Twilight did any of that when she came over? I believe all she did was say "hi, I'm new here", and she was suddenly a student. Also, the school security is really lax if she could spend the night in the library without anyone noticing. That, and my headcanon is that since she didn't so much as use any toiletries such as deodorant, let alone shower or even change clothes, it wasn't the rumors that Sunset was circulating that turned off her classmates the next day...

 

Long story short, Sunset Shimmer probably just took advantage of the lack of administration in that version of the human world. Clearly Principal Celestia doesn't even do background checks on potential new students. As for school fees, the public school system in NA is government funded, so that makes sense. What doesn't is that Sunset and Twilight could get into a school of any sort without any documentation at least being filled out to indicate that they so much as attend there. I'm pretty sure virtually any government at least likes to know that much, especially if they're funding their education. As for where she lives, given that Twilight survived in a library, anything's possible.

The Friendship Games deleted scenes from the official DVDs has an alternate "director´s commentary" audio channel.

In the scene were Sunset met Princess Twilight, she pays for her since Twilight only had equestrian coins. There one of the producers asks to the others from where Sunset gets her money, with one of the board artists mentioning she has a job and another one agrees. 

  

This is probably a fact that is part of the "bible of the franchise" for Equestria Girls; used by both the writters and the storyboard developers to check references from the "bio" of each character ; to avoid taking simple mistakes when developing a situation.

For example: "Pinkie Pie lives with her sisters, but she has a room just for herself with a King sized bed"; [this may had to be added to allow for the slumber party in "Rainbow Rocks" to happen in a single place with all of the girls, without having to add Pinkie´s sisters (the kitchen scene with the cameo of Maud was a last minute adition)] .
