I don't know about the rest of the fandom, but I'm not exactly sure what I expect of this. As long as they don't do something stupid and marry Twilight and Flash (*shudder*), and generally just stay as far away from Equestria Girls as possible, I'll be glad. All I'm gonna say is we're gonna have the fans who love it and the fans who think it could've been much better. Such is the nature of the brony community. As for myself, I'm keeping my expectations fairly low. I'm hyped for the movie, and I would like to be surprised, but I'm not expecting Disney quality. The only Equestria Girls film to date that I like is Rainbow Rocks, so really all I expect right now is to enjoy the "main series" film more than Rainbow Rocks. Even if it gets bashed for all the wrong reasons, but it will happen. These two responses pretty much sums it up. One just needs to glance at the MLP Movie subforum to know where expectations are headed. In order to do that they would have to make appealing to non-bronies as well, in other words, children who don't necessarily like mlp but you know it's another thing for kids so guardians will take their children to the movies to see said film. Many bronies will probably get upset that certain things are excluded from the film, for example I feel like Discord will not be mentioned at all in order for other people to understand better. The reason I say that is because the movie is going to be made in a way that you don't need to know the canon of the show in order for all audiences to enjoy it. If they do bring up certain characters such as Discord and etc. expect many character introductions and short background stories ahaha Also like someone said above if you expect it to be perfect you will probably be disappointed. Also I don't feel like the show is getting edgier, but that's just me. But if some people do hate this supposed "edginess" I'm pretty that a very small minority. I think the movie will do well. It will be received by bronies positively for the most part. If she's mentioned or shown at all, it'll probably be in the very beginning, when everyone's in Twilight's Castle, before they take on their new journey. But, I think that's as far as she'll get in the movie. Best animated feature was the main thing I was referring when I said the MLP movie will not get an oscar XD MLP is a non-oscar bait thing and will probably continue to be that in this film. Not saying that non-oscar bait films haven't won oscars before, but MLP is not one of things in my opinion. The movie will most likely be incredible and I will love it. Besides the music I highly doubt it. Also Zootopia is probably going to win best animated feature. It has no real competition yet but I'm sure something will arise and actually saw a commercial for a possible contender. Maybe Finding Dory but I wouldn't be sure cuz I have yet to watch it. Take a look at the 2017 films. Two Lego spin offs, Cars 3, Despicable Me 3, Emojis, The Grinch and Coco. No Ghibli, no WDAS, no Laika.
