Just think about it for a sec, Twilight is teaching Starlight about magic and friendship, and she made friends with both Sunburst and Trixie earlier this season, and Big Jim said that Trixie's story isn't over yet! It leads me to believe Trixie might be coming back in the finale!

 

But it's not just Starlight that's been making alot of friends - it's Spike too! He made friends with a Dragon Lord's daughter, and he's going to make friends with a changeling and Discord! John de Lancie also said himself that he voiced Discord in TWO episodes this season, but there's no other Discord episode in sight other than Dungeons and Discords, and John himself said that he thinks his second role might be in a 2-parter, which could be none other than the finale!

 

Another thing to add: Spike was HUGELY supportive to Starlight during the season premiere! He was more supportive in this premiere than any other season (other than 3)! He didn't interact with her that much since then, maybe perhaps because Starlight needs some moments with just Twilight, as well as the Mane Six.

 

So basically what I'm saying is, I know Starlight will be playing a major role in the finale because it's obvious, but perhaps Spike is too, as well as the friends they made this season like Sunburst, Trixie, Ember, the changeling, and Discord! I don't know what the finale is gonna be about exactly, but I do think it has something to do with this being the solution!

Likely. I doubt the writers would introduce a bunch of characters just to come up with a distant antogonist for the mane six to fight. The fascio needs something to couple them.

I was actually thinking that too! What if it's a villain alliance? Chrysalis and her loyal changelings along with other evil creatures of Equestria, and maybe a new villain, or a returning one from G1 like Grogar! That was just an example of course.

This could make for a really interesting way for the finale to be handled.

And it would make Spike the most useful he has ever been sense the first EQG movie.

I do feel like the new friends that Spike has made will play a role in the finale. with Ember now being the leader of the dragons, she could provide assistance, his new changeling buddy will obviously have something to do with it and it keeps going. Spike's role in this season has been a huge surprise, but an amazing one.

it would be interesting to see how that all works out... but what about the movie?

do you think the movie will be the epitaph of that? just thinking...

they say there might be a season 7... and if it happends before the movie....

 

i do think that they will continue the arc of starlight and twilight, spike as well...

i realy think they need to run with the "starlight+trixie" thing... that has the potential for alot, as twilight was woried about it, made me think... could that be forshadowing?

Yes!  If your theory ends up being correct, that would actually be a pretty cool yet very subtle arc for this season.

 

It's nowhere near as obvious as the "keys" in Season 4... I had that one figured out early on even though it wasn't technically "confirmed" until the season finale. This could actually make for a really nice Season 6 finale.

Thorax's appearance in here and how it all played out, plus Starlight appearing and in the middle of Spike's song, she felt a little bit of sympathy for Thorax because she was realizing she's been in his shoes... this is just proving my theory even more! The Starlight-Spike friendship arc theory is really going strong!

 

Anybody have any new opinions after seeing this episode?

I don't see it. I would like for these two to have more episodes, though, because they have some of the best chemistry out of any of the other characters. I'd like to see Spike make friends with the CMC (especially Sweetie Belle), Diamond Tiara, Silver Spoon, Pipsqueak, Rumble, Tender Taps, and Button Mash.

I think Spike is going to be the Prince of Friendship and he'll probably rule over the Crystal Kingdom after Chrysalis destroys the Carousel Boutique for the hundredth time.
