That's.... that is actually a great example. Not that he's inherently negative in all situations and only a failure as opposed to the inherent success we seed in archetypal Mary Sue... but in that he's a One-Off Character. The guy that shows up to hand over what the main cast is gonna do that episode and have literally nothing else behind them other than presenting the hook for that episode.

It depends in which way you take an opposite. But one interpretation is someone with many flaws. Lol I just thought of nobita from doraemon just cuz many flaws. But technically he does have some talents and he gets a starring role as main character. He is supposed to be good a gun shooting or somethin. And a few other things? He is also a nice person at least mostly lol. 

Also in the movies he goes crazy hero haha.

I guess also diary of wimpy kid is like that idk not as much maybe hah. Maybe not good examples just what I think of.
