I have been playing fallout 4 a lot recently ( yay PS4 mods are finally out ) and I have a question....

Who did you side with in fallout 4?

I usually side with the Brotherhood but recently I decided to side with the Institute, I actually like both factions and I really wish you could replace the elder with a synth so that you could keep the BoS around if you side with the Institute.

As for the other two I find the Minutemen annoying and I despise the Railroad.

I sided with the Brotherhood of Steel, as i do with all fallout games. I did once side with the Institute just to see the Prydwen go down, and it's always worth it. I remember first joining the Brotherhood in Fallout 3, good times.

You don't just play a Bethesda game and do a single run. Gotta get all those arcs.

When I did my first run, I sided with the Institute. If I were there, I'd have chosen them in a heartbeat, as I share their characteristics and vision.

I haven't played it yet, but I imagine I would side with the Railroad on my first play through, because from what I've heard from watching stuff about Fallout 4's Lore, I got the belief Synths deserve human rights (because they are basically human, in anatomy and in thought other than minor differences due to the inhumanity of the Institute), the Brotherhood chapter in the Commonwealth is not like the D.C. Chapter was in Fallout 3 (it's actually quite a bit like the West Coast chapter, which I thought were not friendly at all. I blew their whole base up.), and I don't entirely like the Institute. Their complete hatred for outsiders is completely irrational and self-destructive, and their ethics are debatable for me, and that the Minutemen sound like they could get a little annoying. Also from what I've heard, it's got a lot of infiltration missions, which probably would be good for a SPECIAL layout like the one I always run playing Fallout.

In my first playthrough I went with the institute, but after that I have always gone with the BoS, because they are military/army like and they are whom side I would take in the real world.

As someone who is likes synths, I usually side with the Institute first or the Railroad. However, I don't like the railroad's idea of escorting synths out of the commonwealth and then leaving them on their own. I wish there had been a way to promote to synths about joining the Minuteman. The game made it seem like the only option gen 3 synths had were to stay in the Institute and be miserable or escape and have their minds wiped by the Railroad and flee the commonwealth.

I always side with the Minutemen, I don't know, they just seemed like the best choice at the time.  They never seemed too extreme for me like all the other factions.

The Railroad was too conspiracy theory oriented, The Institute was too heartless and cruel, so it was between the Minutemen and The Brotherhood. I chose The Brotherhood because, even though they do not show mercy to their enemies, they were loyal and cool (I loved the airship, their power armor, and their armor in general). The Minutemen are my second favorite faction.
