Hey @Shadow Dancer, since you sent Inducus into the "future" in the IC thread, I'd like to ask if we could settle something in OOC instead. So Crystal wanted to ask him after the meeting whether she can use the security cameras in Main Engineering and the one above it's door, from her console at the Chief Engineers office. And secondly, she wanted to inform him about the present from doc (bottle of wine) and ask if she can keep it for her department, since unguarded booze in the age of replicators can be, well, replicated. And possibly cause trouble.

 

Tell me here what his decision would be so I can incorporate it in my future posts OK?

Asassination? That's just so crude. And ineffective in the long run. The Romulan Star Empire doesn't do negotiations unless it's pressed into them by circumstances, preferring to take what they need at gunpoint. An assasination attempt, even as a false flag operation, is best suited as a reason for a "legitimate" war, not to put more leverage at the negotiation table. I was thinking of more subtle ways to tip the scales in their favour.

make it seem that the federation would assassinate the Klingon ambassitor. Resulting in a fight between Luna and the kilingon bird of prey.

 

Romulan then get the mining facility's, before anyone can stop them. They have a armada of fleets defending the facility with phaser immune ships.

 

Who can stop them after that, beside the borg.

A bit too dependent on hoping that Klingons make hasty conclusions and open fire, considering the Federation is there to mediate while silently backing their claim, but it all depends how the RP plays out. If the Federation didn't have a horse in the race, or wanted the system themselves, it would work, sure.

 

Crystal prefers brandy, and doesn't really like wines and beers. Not enough alcohol in alcohol.

Who says the federation doesn't want the system themselves? They just discovered ore that is immune to phaser fire. Just need a ore immune to photon torpedoes and the federation would be unable to destroy the ship.

 

Phasers are the main weapons used, since torpedoes are slow to reload, and inaccurate compared to phaser fire.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the Klingons and Federation allied?  On top of that, aren't the Romulans at the top of the Klingons' shit list for what they did at Khitomer?

 

If yes to one or the other, I don't see why the Klingons would jump to the conclusion that the Federation was trying to stab them in the back.

I'm taking GM's plot as Word if God. If he says Klingons are the rightful owners of the system and Federation is to help them in a non-violent way, and that's what I understood so far, then I roll with it. My trek savvy is nearly nonexistent, so I don't have much choice on the matter anyway.

 

Although the presence of rich deposits of metal that makes things neatly indestructible in battle conditions could also mean that Klingons are watching their backs, just in case. Mentis has a final say on the nuances though.

I don't know how @@Hazard Time is planning to play them, but proud / arrogant characters can lead to interesting interactions (especially when they are sort of on our side) and there's the whole culture difference angle as well.

I'm sounding like a broken record at this point, but since I don't really know that much about Klingon culture, his personality won't be anywhere as deep as his Romulan adversary.  However, as klingons are a proud, honorable race with a militant culture, there will be plenty of tension whenever Pakul's in the room xP

I sure don't want anything exploding on the ship, so Crystalc won't have any mishaps going on.
