Okay.... so I see a sparky coming to my department sometime later, right? Now the big question is - with so little actual malfunctions, since it's a brand new ship, will another player character in Engineering have enough to do? Once the ship's fully checked over for any production f*** ups, the Engineers will just run routine jobs and try not to get too bored on their shifts.

 

Just my thoughts on the subject, if you guys do see enough material to sustain 2 engineering characters, then OK, I guess.

I was thinking that Sparky is a go between engineering and the bridge or maybe towards working on weapons.

He could be the Security's Armourer, or a Weapons Officer of sorts.. You know, the guy who keeps Indicus's department's shiny gadgetry operational, maybe even tinker with it occasionally to fit specific, non-standard missions. He could also have a seat on the bridge besides Tactical, which is more of a lock-on and firing solution decision center, whereas he would pull the triggers and keep watch on weapons systems for overheating and the like.

Sense he is a tactical engineer and primarily specs in energy based weapons, he would do best be a weapons and shields specialist. He can also do potential borg defense mods for the weapons and shields. This would be when they do encounter the borg though.

Even though he is pure energy and is supported by Borg tech, he can't yet survive in the core. The awakening he had undergone was actually an attempt by the elder to claim his spark. However, that elder didn't realize Energa's spark was stronger than his. Energa is currently working on borrowed time. The energy he currently has is limited and is slowly running out. Then his spark will slowly start to lose power. If his spark goes out he dies. This is also another reason he doesn't use his energy form very often and if he does have to use it, he doesn't use it for very long and it has to be a dire situation for ship and crew for him to even concider revealing his true nature to them.

 

Most believe he is like 7 of 9 from Voyager, a Liberated Borg.

How many more delegates or ambassadors does the ship need to pick up? Hopefully one of them are already a federation ally.

 

We could have it that my chara was assigned and sent ahead to be Security for said representatives, If already an ally or as a sign of good faith and to bring the message that the ship itself will arrive shortly. He was sent ahead on the second part to show they are committed to the success of this mission.

 

A side mission that utilizes both his combat Engineering skills and tests how well he can handle himself while in the field under potential pressure.

 

While at the same time, Energa was also tracking an Energian energy trace along the same path.

Since Misty radioed your toon, I propose you post first and give me a window to write that Crystal tapped the right button to let her through. You could then continue when she comes down to the Main Engineering, since the Chief Screwdriver will have little to say while they wait anyway.

I had assumed something like that would happen. If you like I can remove the last bit and have her still be waiting in the lift, but I thought that it might be unnecessary filler - unless Crystal and Sol. were going to have a conversation before Misty arrived.

Also, Energa won't be telling anyone about his problem. It won't show up on normal medical scans until his time is almost up. But by then I hope we will have something set up for it. I have a few ideas if interested in hearing them. If not, I am also curious what you, the GM, comes up with.

Oh, sorry I missed you before (I neglected to thoroughly check through OOC after I got back.) Sounds like an interesting character, and it'll be nice to have an officer who is a bit closer(ish) to Misty in rank.
