What relationships would you like to see explored more?

It'd be great to have a Trixie and Discord episode. Discord said in the season six finale that if Trixie ever need chaos in her act he'd be there.

 

Bringing back Discord again is easy since it's become a trend now though Trixie might be a little harder since her only interactions were with Twilight and Starlight.

I'd like to see more episodes where Starlight interacts with the rest of the cast. We didn't get enough of that this season and I think it's a big part of why a lot of people are having trouble warming up to her.

Well Spike is a part of the cast.

At this point, just about any that aren't incredibly prominent like Twilight/Spike, Starlight/Twilight, Sunset/Twilight, Rainbow/Fluttershy and especially freaking Rarijack

 

Though ones I'd especially like to see explored more are Twilight/Rainbow, Twilight/Rarity, Rarity/Rainbow, Fluttershy/AJ, Twilight/AJ, Rarity/Fluttershy, Spike(and Starlght, and Sunset)/Remane 5

Yeah Spike hasn't really been paired with anybody. Twilight, Starlight ,Rarity, and Applejack are the only ones. Even then only in a couple of episodes.

After the great scene between Luna and Celestia in the ep, "A slice of Life", I'd like to see more about them as sisters, not princesses.  I'd also like to learn about Rarity's background and family.

Yeah it'd be great to have an episode about Luna and Celstia.

She could make another appearance in season seven because of her friendship with Starlight, but they can't just rely on that otherwise it wouldn't really be all that believable. They should expand on what brought them together as it would make for an interesting misadventure with Trixie being her boastful self and Starlight trying to keep her in check.

I agree she shouldn't always be around. She doesn't live in Ponyville after all. But it could lead to interesting setups. Starlight and Twilight could be in The Crystal Empire and Trixie could be there performing her show.

That's one way of looking at it. Trixie easily gets around with her travelling wagon and could show up in places that Starlight just so happens to be in as well, yet there should be more to it than that than just mere convenience. Just showing up would be funny in and of itself but it can't be used all the time otherwise it gets stale.

A way to get around this would be have Starlight hang out with Spike and the mane six. Spike and Starlight bonded in the season six premier. It'd be cool to have an episode where they do something together.

That depends if Twilight doesn't need Spike for anything. He is her assistant first and foremost in addition to being her closest companion since she was little and he was hatched.

There hasn't been a single episode focusing on pets, and remember that in "Slice of Life", Gummy had narrative dialogue in one scene there, similar to how it was done in the Homeward Bound movies. Angel should have some as well, as he's the mostly seen pet within all the Mane Six's.

 

Oh yeah, and Fluttershy could also use an episode with Maud Pie, or more yet, the whole Pie family. And Zephyr Breeze and their parents can be there, too. Furthermore, Maud has already used up her episodes with Applejack (Hearthbreakers) and Rarity (The Gift of the Maud Pie), and doesn't really need one with Rainbow Dash because Dash has no brothers or sisters (Scootaloo not included).

 

One more thing -- both of these ideas will result in at least two PinkieShy episodes for Season 7.

He's pretty independent when Twilight doesn't need his help.

They should bring him along more often than they do, but that would cut into his "guy's weekend" with Big Mac and Discord.

The only reason they don't bring him along is because the writers need a set up. Or there wouldn't be anything to do with him. It would have been pointless for Spike to be in the season five premiere. Dragons don't have cutie marks. So they really couldn't have done much with him.

I can't think of that many Pinie Pie and Fluttershy episodes. There's Buckball Season. But what else?

I don't think there was any before that, and because they lost the most appearance time in a recent season, their chance of having episodes together in Season 7 has increased, like Pinkie/Rarity has after five seasons.

I see what you mean. But for unused or rarely used pairings Pinkie and Flutershy isn't one I'm that interested in personally. But I did like Buckbal Season. So maybe they could have a map episode together. It could be interesting. Pinkie Pie being loud and obnoxious. And Fluttershy having a more quiet and polite demeanor. Actually I'd also like another Fluttershy and CMC episode. I really only remember the one they had together.

Sometimes they have Spike there so Twilight has someone to talk to. Like in EQG one or the season five finale. If Spike wasn't there Twilight would have talked to herself. Then sometimes he's there for no other reason than they still have to pay Cathy Wesluck. Like in EQG two. Spike going that time was pointless. And this coming from someone who loves Spike.
