I just finished Baccano yesterday, and I'm a little disappointed that nobody I talk to knows about it. Consider this a recommendation.

Does the anime stay faithful to the manga? I haven't read the manga in so long I barely remember anything. I'll watch it either way, I'm just curious.

 

CLAMP = one of the best manga artist groups.

 

I still haven't even finished Tsubasa or xxxHolic or even started X/1999 but I love their stuff. Really awesome artwork, great stories...man just awesome.

 

I have to admit it, I haven't read the Manga. I have heard that the first series follows pretty faithfully, but the second veers off with two anime only characters added in. Hope that helps!

By mature I meant like I said stuff such as Perfect Blue, Ghost in the Shell, Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Stuff that is definetly meant for an older audience to watch. Especially when you think about the deeper meanings within the anime etc.

 

Like many others said Elfen Lied is a great mature anime. Awesome story and scenes that make you want to tear your heart from your chest so it won't ache anymore.

 

Another mature anime that I personally like is "Higurashi no Naku Koro ni" aka "When They Cry". It's a VERY GORY mystery anime, with great characters.

I watched Elfen Lied a little while ago and I have to say, it's easily one of my favorites. It's more on the dark and gory side and usually I don't stick with those, but there's just something about it that I can't get enough of.

 

Another one of my fav's is Shakugan No Shana. That one was really amusing and the way the story twisted throughout the series was pretty amazing in my opinion.

I just started watching that a few days ago. It's great so far, but I can't find an english dub past I think episode 5 or so. You know where to find it, or will I just have to wait for more of the dub to release on Toonami?

The funniest anime i have ever seen is probably Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu

 

As for the ongoing anime that i like to watch: Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Toriko, Hunter X Hunter (2011), Fairy Tail

Huh.. all of thouse are Shounen. Shame on me!

Bleach, Naruto and Death Note are my favourites! I've also got the entire season 1 of Bleach on DVD, and the first 3 mangas. A lot of people don't like One Piece, but I'll have a look at it, and Soul Reaper is amazing. Yes, I prefer English dub too. Easier to understand. Also, check out Highschool of the Dead.

Watched Summer Wars recently

 

I liked Samurai Girls... fell in love with the unique animation style

 

The Tenchi Muyo series (even including the GXP) I enjoyed

 

Of course, all the pokemon movies are enjoyable... maybe not really the 14th

 

 

of course, if I tell you the one anime/manga that would suggest the most, you would all think of me differently and say that I am sick
