still trying to get used to this place x,3

so, how do I earn points? I get that I must make topics like these, but I wonder if it´s the only way. I´ve heard giving comments to the other topics add points, but no good.

also, do I gotta have atleast the muffin mark to get a "reply" button? I draw and draw on my pc screen but the button drawing I make doesn´t work! aaarrffhgudiodhuodrgo D8< *throws noodle arms around and stuffing my face with a big muffin*

Points? Who needs 'em. Don't treat the forums like some Xbox Achievement hunter or some Playstation Trophy hoarder.

Make good quality posts and enjoy your interactions with others within the community; really all that matters =^-^=

You don't really earn points. Your post count is what determines what rank you are, and that will go up over time as you continue posting. Well, except for posts in certain sections, like Cloudsdale Colosseum, that don't add to your count.

You should be able to reply to most topics regardless of your rank. If you go to the bottom of the page, just below the last post on the page, you should see a box that says "Reply to this topic... ". Click in there to add your reply.

Don't worry you will eventually get the hang of it.

Assuming you are talking about post count, that increases by creating new topics and replying to topics in specific forums. There are several forum areas that will not increase your post count (Fan Clubs, Welcome Plaza, Forum Games), etc. Some areas are restricted (like the Debate Pit) until you reach a specific post count. Post counts also are tied to your rank/badges with Blank Flank being the lowest and Unicorn the highest. As others have said ... focus on adding to the conversation instead of focusing on the numbers. Some of the best places on MLPF have no impact on your post count. It's all about enjoying yourself, right?

There is also several other 'measurements' that some could call points. Brohoof count is one of those. They are basically upvotes or likes, and you get them by creating content that other people like. I personally do not consider them to be good measurements of your impact on people and the community, and prefer a reaction based system so you can better understand why people enjoyed your content.

Some areas you cannot contribute in yet. Some RP areas and Debate Pit. You need 50 posts to be able to see DP, and 100 to reply to posts or make topics there.

Just relax and sit back and enjoy talking to people on MLPF, and you will find your post count and brohoofery levels rise naturally.

it´s not really about earning points for some random reason, it´s rather about the limits if I don´t have enough points to do certain things here at the forum I,D and I don´t care about earning trophies on my ps3, because earning them for no reason is boring.

okie hehe, thanks for the reply :3

yeah, the limit is what worries me just abit. ofcourse I´m here for the fun and I don´t care much about points at all. but I heard from one that I need a certain amount of points to comment or make topics at some parts, including to reply on comments. but I guess the "quote" buttons are as close as it gets.
