spoiler A Royal Problem: Was it Starlight or the Map?

**Spoilers ahead for A Royal Problem**

As you know, in A Royal Problem, Celestia's and Luna's Cutie Marks were swapped (Which I loathe by the way) and this was supposedly done by Starlight. Seems obvious, she did a flash dealio and poof, done super fast and whatever.

Thing is, when the Cutie Marks switch back to their respective bums, Starlight proclaims that she is not the one that did it. That instantly makes me think, was it Starlight that even swapped them in the first place? The Cutie Map is aptly named, it is some type of power that is clearly connected to Cutie Marks, that seems to be its whole gimmick. Starlight, when she supposedly did it, it was done in an instant, a flash, which seems rather unlike how she did this to the mane 6 (again, I loathe that). Perhaps she has gotten better but then again I don't know why she would practice to improve a spell that caused only grief to ponies. All of this, with that obvious powder keg from Starlight at the end, shows that it is possible that the Map was the one who did all of this in the first place in that episode.

Thoughts? What do you think? If it indeed was the map, then my view on the episode will go up a bit more, for different reasons that I don't want to go into here. Of course the one obvious problem with this theory is that, why would it send Starlight there in the first place if the map could just do all of this anyways, but there could be additional reasons for that too.

It automatically wore off after 24 hours, like it was supposed to.

But that doesn't explain why Starlight said that she didn't do anything. It could have been that the spell couldn't be removed until 24 hours, which Starlight would then had to have reversed it. Unless I missed something here.

The spell was designed to last twenty-four hours before wearing off and switching things back to normal, but I do agree that some context was needed to explain that precise moment.

I think what Starlight meant was she wasn't the one reversing the spell after 24 hours, that it reversed itself when the problem resolved.

Exactly, could. So you're basically grasping straws here. I think you shouldn't look so deep in a show for children. It was convenient for the plot, bob's your uncle, and the episode is done.

Dude. Have you even seen this fandom at all? Speculating is part of the fun. This is a show for everyone, not just children and it is fun trying to unravel some mysteries.
