i actually don't think it will, but Its still an option to list under possibilities. Also, keep in mind that the last 2 transformers movies have been massively less successful than previous ones: The last knight is currently a series alltime low.

Aye. It was weird question to consider because you have the paradoxical issue of saying something won't be able to reach those highs, yet being left with the mystery of how the TF films have continued to reach them to begin with.

We have been kept speculating that said newly announced season will be the last, and I think that's been going on since S5, and now we an eight season announced, so at this point, I'd prefer to not speculate. I would like to reach the ninth season, to reach the 200th episode only. Even if the show would reach to an end, there won't be a G5 until years later, but there's a chance to make a generation 4.5 or something

There's nowhere enough to suggest they're wrapping up the show. Introducing the parents of two major characters for the first time isn't really tying up a loose end. These were long overdue scenarios. They're about to launch a high budget MLP movie in a effort to "broaden" the brand, and that's not a move they'd be pulling if they wanted to pull the plug on the show. It's too big of an IP for Hasbro to end, and the show proves every single season to be limitless on quality storytelling and ideas. On the contrary, I think FiM has a lot more to offer and isn't ending anytime soon. Fans ask pretty much every season if the next one is going to be the last. Why don't we just enjoy the ride until it ends and not worry about the future? It's way more fun that way.

I mean they just put a ton of money into the brand, why would then end it right after that

I want ten seasons. Maybe twelve if they can stretch it. But at least nine. I want nine so we can get a 200th episode. So yeah when we reach 200 episodes I will be good.

The only thing that gives me pause each year is Brian Goldner. Until the last few years he was mostly focusing his attention on Transformers and picking up new licenses. A few years back My Little Pony became a property he is keen on trying new things with. 

This is the guy who started the process (too late in my opinion) of altering course with the Transformers film franchise. The Bumblebee film is his baby. He is almost impossible to predict and seems to alternate frequently between trying new things and leaving a proven formula alone. 

Back in Season 5 and Season 6 I was sure we would have a Season 7 because he wasn't too involved in Pony, and it was profitable enough. Now he is. All bets are off. It could stay as-is for 10 seasons. Or Season 9 could actually be a reboot. That guy is a wild card.

2020 may be an odd year for Pony. He has writers who have been pitching a crap top of new show ideas to an expected launch of several shows that year (MASK and Visionaries are top on the list). If I was thinking like a CEO, I wouldn't exclude the idea of a more action oriented MLP series to debut among those.

Like Piranha noted as an idea, I could see hasbro trying a Guardians of harmony show.

that being said, If they did one, I'd honestly prefer a REBOOT or alternate continuity, NOT a side series. I'd like to see some different ways to look at the mane six and some new things for the universe for a GOH series-- As an example, One thing I actually LIKE about EQG is that the twilight in it is explicitly different from pony twilight (Though still at heart the "same" character), meaning I can be surprised at how she behaves (which, sadly, cannot be said to be the same about the other 5 in EQG).
It'd be interesting to see something like that with the mane six shook up a little in where they are in life and whatnot. (One thing that pissed me off about the S5 finale for example was that we DIDN'T explore how everyone's lives was different, they just threw a bunch of crap at you and said to not ask questions because it would be invalidated 5 seconds later by a new timeline-- the complete OPPOSITE of what I want to see in a "want of a nail" plot)

It's funny because I was once verbally dubious of they doing an action centered show, but once that CEO gets involved, he likes to tinker. Salutary neglect goes out the window. That said, I wouldn't be opposed to them trying a new angle with a new cannon entirely.

Same thing can be said about the doomsayers and "this is the worst season ever" guys  . I mean, seriously, they have become so standard each season that I WILL, open threads dealing to them so they can become happy

GoH reboot would be a damn good thing indeed, but not under the current staff. Reboot the staff too while you're at it!
