FirePuppy 735 July 25, 2017 Share July 25, 2017 With Transformers: Rescue Bots now out of production, it seems like My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is the ONLY remaining animated TV series left on Discovery Family as of June 2017 (last month). To make matters worse, the channel is losing more and more viewers, even me (I instantly lost access when I moved to another house 3 months ago). What's gonna happen to the show after Hasbro decides to shut down Discovery Family for good?
Hierok 11,832 July 25, 2017 Share July 25, 2017 I think the show is going to another tv program. I don't think they will quit because Discovery Family quits. 2 If I don't understand something or Interpret it wrong, I'm dutch. Sometimes I gamble for meanings of the words. Megas 27,765 July 25, 2017 Share July 25, 2017 It goes on to another channel or Netflix. Hasbro will keep making episodes as long as the toys sell It's also worth noting that Rescue Bots is getting a sequel series rather than ending outright
cmarston1 5,959 July 25, 2017 Share July 25, 2017 I guess it could just move to Netflix.

Could be the best thing that could happen to it - Netflix has no real reason to enforce the same episode lengths as scheduled tv, and it seems a bunch of the storylines aren't a good fit for that episode length. ᚾᛖᚹ ᛚᚢᚾᚨ ᚱᛖᛈᚢᛒᛚᛁᚴ - ᚦᛖ ᚠᚢᚾ ᚺᚨᚦ ᛒᛖᛖᚾ ᛞᛟᚢᛒᛚᛖᛞ
PinkiePie97 913 July 25, 2017 Share July 25, 2017 (edited) MLP actually isn't the only animated series left on Discovery Family. There's also Blazing Team. Discovery Communications is also the majority owner of the channel. I don't know if Hasbro actually has the power to shut the channel down, although I wouldn't be surprised if there comes a day when they sell their stake back to Discovery or they both decide to shut it down. If that does happen, I wouldn't be surprised if the show's new home in the U.S. is Netflix. Philweasel 139 July 25, 2017 Share July 25, 2017 This is also only America. Honestly I think Hasbro put more stock in their international audiences these days, which is why America is getting so many episodes late.
KH7672 1,604 July 25, 2017 Share July 25, 2017 It is a real shame all these shows ending. I know a lot of them could have faired better on other channels (especially Dan Vs. - oh Curtis how I miss your incessant anger at things). Still MLP has always been the main draw for this channel, the second might have been LPS but don't quote me on it there is no way Hasbro would just give it up if they lost the channel. That would be like Nickelodeon throwing Spongebob away. 3 hours ago, FirePuppy said: To make matters worse, the channel is losing more and more viewers, even me (I instantly lost access when I moved to another house 3 months ago). That's always been the channel's downfall in America, it's limited availability. It's probably why they switched to those reality TV shows. I actually miss The Hub's old programming schedule. Besides all the cartoons, there was still A Haunting Hour and even some of those game shows drew me personally in as a viewer. But that kind of production can't thrive on a channel with that limited availability. One of my most ambitious role playing experiences. Plus other smaller stories and commentaries throughout the cup threads.

Steve Piranha 29,432 July 25, 2017 Share July 25, 2017 I don't think ponies will banish if Discovery Family goes defunct. It's the channel's Spongebob. But I think it'll move to another network or medium, like Netflix. I think ponies are doing well there. All the previous seasons, plus all the EGs, and the first half of S7 next saturday. Plus it's more reliable than an increasingly less accessible network (mine was available with the silver package, but with no prior advice moved to gold ) Sig by Discords

Singe 2,111 April 16, 2018 Share April 16, 2018 Kids Click is running cartoons in the morning on local channels. It's running Miraculous Ladybug. Dropped Winx Club. Universal Kids is new and currently runs Inspector Gadget which DHX worked on. Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon will likely bury the series in due time. It could appear on Disney channel or Disney Jr.
PinkiePie97 913 April 16, 2018 Share April 16, 2018 Since this thread was last active, Littlest Pet Shop: A World of Our Own premiered on Saturday and Rescue Bots Academy is coming this fall. Unlike Blazing Team, LPS is airing in a decent slot with promotion and I imagine it will be the same for Rescue Bots Academy when it premieres. I still wouldn't be surprised to see the channel close or for Hasbro to pull out, but it doesn't seem as dead as it did when this thread was started. YoshiAngemon 223 April 21, 2018 Share April 21, 2018 It's not like MLP would end up on the new Universal Kids Channel. I never heard of it, but my sister has it. I only wish that channel had their own wingnutty peanut butter loving birdbrain, Woody Woodpecker! I liked his movie! And for the record, Scott McNeil is in "Woody Woodpecker" as Nate Grimes, one of the two poacher brothers who try to catch that bird. Also, after the film, you're treated to "Niagara Fools" a fan favorite short!
