Does Zecora consider herself/should be considered a pony?

Zecora has been a part of the pony community, gaining recognition from others. Even though she is a zebra, would she be considered a pony? In reality of course, zebras cannot have ponies, but in the MLP universe, does she consider herself one?

I'm not sure what she thinks herself, but I think she's a borderline case. I wouldn't really consider her a pony, as she is not a horse. But she does have a cutie mark of sorts – something that the ponies have but the mules and donkeys don't, for example.

Twilight outright declares zebras aren't ponies in Bridle Gossip (I just checked) but it's not something that's been elaborated on since. And she's still the only zebra we've seen in the entire show's run, so I want to say it's up to the viewer to interpret? I only say that because zebras are the only other sophont species in Equestria with a cutie-mark like glyph, and thus they're obviously at the very least closely related to the Equestrian ponies.

I found Zecora to be the resemblance of a foreigner living in a new country, one that keeps her traditions and also involves herself in the community she's a part of now, granted she's actually from a different species.

So, to answer your question, I think she's a Zebra that can be considered a "Pony" from the social perspective without a problem. Although, there's a better description for that concept, she's a "citizen of Equestria" as much as Spike, Mathilda, Cranky and all equestrian ponies we know.
