That's exactly what I was thinking when arcs suddenly end in a lazy way. That's what I didn't like about Bloom and Gloom. A majority of the fandom doesn't like Babs, so now they take her out by giving her cutie mark and never see her again. That is just super lazy. Whether a character is liked or not, arcs need to finish properly. I don't even care for the griffons that much, but I do think more of them and Griffonstone is needed for the sake of the show.

Personally, I don't. But the couple is official, and it's up to DHX to build it up and make it feel real. Killing any of the potential off is a mea culpa, and for a show striving not to stick with the status quo, you can't do that.

I disagree. In a way this could improve Big Mac's character! If there's ever a time where Big Mac decides to move with Sugar Belle in Equal Town, or if Sugar Belle moves in with the Apples, either could start up big problems for Applejack, Apple Bloom, and Granny. If Big Mac moves out, it could start up problems with not just the Apples, but with the Ponytones, and his Guys' Night pals. I see something like this happening, but only during the final season of the show, because I'm pretty sure Big Mac wouldn't leave right in the middle of the series, but at least during the final season, the show would be ending anyway so it wouldn't be bad for the fans unless they really didn't want him with Sugar Belle!

How would Big Mac moving out improve his character? If he moves out there's no more character to improve, not to mention losing Big Mac would result in a sizable loss in physical labor, which would have serious ramifications for the farm.

 I'd like an episode where Twilight Sparkle turns evil, battles Princess Celestia & the Remane 5 have to save her in the end. 

I would also like an episode about Princess Luna & Celestia's childhood.

This reminds me of my wildest recurring idea, which seems wildly improbable at this point: "Lesson Zero," except Twilight is a princess and the issue is diplomatic in nature. I always imagine her turning Ponyville into an outright police state before someone snaps her out of it.

Honestly I don't see why not, none of that looks any darker than Tirek or Chrysalis IMO. The armor for example could easily be used by a villain.

The only thing that's suspect would be the body parts from other species thing, and as long as the villain's not constantly talking about them or calling attention to them, it could pass. (and they could easily leave that out and still use the armor designs)

I wouldn't mind seeing Season 8 doing new elements such as elements of creation. Also focusing on love interest of the Manesix. So far everything else has been one.

I agree with the idea of Cosmos being the main villian in season 8 or so on.

Think about it, it would make an interesting opposite of Celestia and Luna, both who rule with autonomy given to all, perhaps, Cosmos was a usurper, and rules an "Alicorn Empire" as Emperor. Cosmos could be what unites the other species of Equestria to their side, what if this empire is all about imperialism, and enslaving all other races that are not Alicorn,  Something like

Emperor Cosmos: Just know this sisters, me and my armies arnt just coming for your kingdom, we are coming for all kingdoms. When I'm through, all races of Equestria will bow to the Alicorn Empire.

I think that would be the ultimate threat, not just an evil Alicorn, but an entire army of Alicorns.

damn so many cool and awesome design! where is this been hiding?? i bet if these are shown in the shows people would think twice about mlp now. I think they going to save up Cosmos for later since they technically confirmed about princess luna and celestia having a brother.

More episodes where the Mane 6 are entirely absent and more interesting characters are given a chance to grow.

S7 had Thunderlane/Rumble and Celestia/Luna episodes and S5 had Slice of Life, so we know it can be done and done well.

Rumble got his turn to shine. Maybe Twist can do it too. And if she was a possible relative to the Pie family, well, I'd be surprised if we saw that.

Other than that, most of our hopes for this season probably won't come true like in every season, but at least we'll know next spring.

Starlight has had a strong focus in 5 episodes so far this season. I don't count episodes where she is there like Fame and Misfortune.

A Royal Problem gave them better characterization. And what do you suggest? Kill them off?

Honestly, I can't stand Starlight but feels like she's been a main focus in way more episodes than that. 

In my opinion, A Royal Problem depicted Luna and Celestia rather horribly. After however long it's been since Season 1 Episode 2, the two sisters still can't communicate their feelings even though this was literally want caused them to fight and Celestia having to banish NMM. Luna was unable to tell Celestia how she was feeling and instead kept it all bottled up which lead her turning into NMM. You'd think these two would want to avoid something like this again but NOPE. Instead they belittled the importance of each other's jobs and completely disregarded how the other one was feeling. The whole situation shouldn't of required Starlight switching with their cutie marks, they've should've been mature enough to resolve the situation by themselves and actually respect each other. And when say "get rid" I mean remove them from the plot, ship them off to some magical land, imprison them, have them mysteriously disappear just do anything to finally put the only competent Alicorn in charge.

Cosmos would be a perfect series villian. If they can, I would love to see either...Jason Issacs(The Patriot, Avatar The Last Airbender, Star Wars Revels) or Ron Perlman(Hellboy, Pacific Rim, Trollhunters) as the voice of Emperor Cosmos.
