"Well THEY STARTED IT!!" Lory firmly stated, being capable of moving her mouth at the very least. "But fine, whatever!... I won't fight you guys... I'd end up humiliating your highest-ranking puppets in battle anyway." She gave off a smug chuckle.

"I'll listen, okay? See, look, I'm calm! I'm calm!" Her demeanor didn't necessarily stayed true to the words she spoke. Once she took note of that herself, however, she breathed in and out a few times, eventually ridding herself from the anger.

"I'm calm... I'll listen." She softly spoke.

Under her breath, very quietly, she said, "I hate paperwork..."

Ozzie glared at Elias condescendingly. "You know what I mean. And think about it, if you hear about a vendor that tricks his customers out of coin all the time, giving ponies fake goods and what not, would you buy things from him?"

The spirit shook his head in dismay. "It's in the the green chest." He added. "Just think about what you do before you do it, cat."

"I will Ozzie, trust me." Elias said as he desended into the portal to retrieve the duplicate ring and trap box. Once he had done so he started drawing a chalk summoning circle on the library floor.

IMG_5769.PNG.dcae22608dee1a71855d81d0c1769aec.PNG

once that was done he drew a thin oval connecting to another, smaller circle off to the side of his larger one.

IMG_5827.JPG.5d4d2939e8874332ef1811542a1d68a8.JPG

Elias placed the box in the center of his smaller circle and spread his paws above it "Oculi omnium daemonum abscondat." He said, the circle shimmered then disappeared from view. "He definitely won't be able to see this, cooked it up specifically to hide things from demons." He told Ozzie before moving to the summoning circle. "Napoxal vias transversas transi et daemonium meum et vocavi te nomine tuo invocabimus. Monstra te esse percussit me et plurimum nostram!" Elias chanted as the circle began to glow a faint red.

"No. With all due respect mistress, a high priority target in the middle of a riot is a recipe for disaster. On matters of security, our word is binding" He turned to Lory, glaring critically.

"If you are under control, I will allow you some access to the operation. But cross us, and you'll remember the price of disobedience." He hissed, his hoofblades clicking against their restraints.

Once Lory was put down, just as she had promised, she maintained her composure without turning against the guards and the Princess - albeit her expression still showed clear signs of vexation. She glanced over at her steel pipe on the floor, readily levitating it and resting it back onto her saddle.

"Deal..." She agreed, attacking Legion with a cold, deadly gaze alone. To the best of her abilities she tried to muster self-control as to avoid putting herself in trouble once again. Yet, she couldn't hide the annoyance in her eyes. She decided to join in the Lunar Guard's operation against the riot, but she didn't see herself working alongside them for any longer.

Legion chuckled at her attempt to mock him, not giving her any indication that he heard her. He nodded to another Lunar Guard.

"Lets move out."

The guard reared up on his hind legs, his hooves and eyes glowing as he slammed his hooves down on the floor. A pop and the smell of brimstone preceded the ring of Fire that materialized in front of the group. Strangely, the flames didn't burn anything around them. Inside the ring was pitch black.

"Princess, do not follow us." Legion said, steping through the portal.

Madness, it was pure madness. Guards running about the castle like a bee hive stirred from sleep, a riot underway in the city with vigilantes hauling ponies from their  homes, and of course the underlying cause... the demonic incursions. All of this, and it was only an hour and a half after midnight. Clearly, this would be a longer night than usual.

@MARSOC @Star48955 @Techno Universal @Driz

The other guards watched, passing by, as Legion attempted to take Lory to his office in the hall. Several times, the other guards shifted, preparing to assist the commander while Lory continued to resist. Just as they reached the door, she made her unacceptable move, countered by the more experienced officer. Before things could escalate further, Luna left the throne room, and made her way out into the hall to stop the mad mare.

"Stand back," One of the officer's ordered to Techno as he stood at the scene by Legion's office. "The princess knows what she's doing, stand back and don't exacerbate the situation!"

Another officer had followed behind Luna when she left the throne room. He was, of course, trying to figure out what her thoughts were on the entire ordeal of the riot. Clearly, the stout officer had no interested in Lory's belligerence.

"Your grace," The captain replied to her wish. "I'm sure your words will sooth the crowd, there's no telling what they'll do to the hostages if we don't act now. It's true you would be at risk, but we can't contain this without casualties. We need you out there to do this the right way."

It was a direct contradiction to Legion.

@Star48955

The halls were buzzing with activity. Every guard had a place to be it seemed, rushing about but not frantically. Not only Lunar Guards, but a good number of Solar guards had shown up to assist with the riot. They appeared to be working side by side, as if there were no earth shattering difference between the two organizations. Not that it mattered, all that mattered was keeping the peace.

One of the Solar Guards slid to a stop after passing Star Snow. He was a younger guard, decked out in the latest, sleekest gear. It still maintained that traditional golden guard look, but there was a hidden arcane technology within it. Gold plates over white chain mail, and a helmet that covered his entire head, with a skinny slit for the eyes that glowed blue over the visor, which he had drawn up at the moment.

The red coated, blue eyed pegasus, tail wrapped up in a white cloth like a bundle, turned around to stare at Star. "Star Snow? Is that... you?"

@Biohazarddallas

Ozzie stepped back through portal and returned with the box in question, the object requested within.

"Just be careful Elias..." He warned, a genuine voice of concern as he handed over the small container. "No matter what happens, someone's pushing all this together. All this stuff going on? I wouldn't be surprised if it has a purpose, that it's all connected. It's one thing for demons to spill out into our world from time to time and cause havoc, but it's entirely something different to see them so... concentrated and powerful. Something bigger is at stake here, I guarantee it! That means someone big's pulling the strings."

He watched as Elias began to form the circles and runes. Slowly, the spirit backed up a bit, nervously.

"Wait, you're not calling him here, are you!?" Ozzie demanded to know.

"Why not, He'll be bound to the summoning circle anyway." Elias said while waiting for Napoxal to appear. The demon did not... "Wow, he usually picks up at the first ring." Elias remarked sarcastically "Second times a charm I suppose, Napoxal vias transversas transi et daemonium meum et vocavi te nomine tuo invocabimus. Monstra te esse percussit me et plurimum nostram!" He started chanting once more.

Ozzie gave a sigh of relief, right before Elias decided to attempt it a second time. The spirit of knowledge perked up again, fearful he rushed back behind one of the stone wall bookshelves.

"We- well, you know, Canterlot is managed by some of the most advanced and intricate enhancements of the old and the new world! Only the most learned mages and sorcerers create the wards that are known to protect the castle. Why, even telep-" He was cut off by the form of Napoxal slowly beginning to coalesce in the circle, prompting the old pony to completely cower behind the stone shelves.

"Greetings, for the second time again tonight." Napoxal smirked, bowing his head. "I apologize for departing so suddenly. I had actually believed you were attempting to ambush and double cross me..."

The demon leaned to the side, staring in the direction of Ozzie as he hid. "But I was foolishly mistaken, no?"

Napoxal channeled his magic to take the small box, opening it to view the contents. He smiled widely, clearly pleased about the acquisition, he barely examined it before closing it.

"Deal accepted. As you know, the information I possess is vast, as is my intricate web of informants and agents. What is it you wish to know?" he asked, sitting on his flank as if expecting a rather long talk.

The air of the dungeon library was becoming colder and more sinister, the product of a pleased demon. Contrary to their home turf, often they produce a colder and more frigid environment when comfortable. Enough so, that breathing produced wispy clouds of mist from the nostrils.

@MARSOC

The portal lead out onto one of the taller buildings in the city, but not quite as tall as some of the castle towers. A dozen officers stood atop it, examining the riot from there as a sort of open air command center. Flyers flew in from various units within the city to receive orders from there.

"Welcome, sir." One of the officers, another bat, Varoyer greeted legion. "They seem to be massing in the market district, gathering in the square in the very center."

He pointed to it, the cobblestone square was a large lot used for market stalls and vendors. A wooden platform sat in the very center, elevated enough for a crowd of visitors to clearly see auctions on display during the evenings. Thirteen hostages were tied up atop the platform with several dozen stout earth ponies guarding them. The crowd, along with the 'guards' sported makeshift wooden weapons and sticks along with torches.

"We've been slowly advancing, but we're having difficulty keeping our gains." He added, pointing to the maze of streets that made up Canterlot as a whole.

Groups of ponies were roving the streets in every direction, a dozen up to a hundred each on 'patrol' and vandalizing 'cultists' homes. Not a single street or avenue was empty, everyone had been riled from their homes, it was like a busy Friday evening on payday, crowded streets and all.

@Star48955 @Techno Universal @Driz

The captain nodded to Luna's assessment, though he couldn't help but give Lory a scrutinizing and condescending look whenever his eyes rolled over her. Most of the other guards clearly didn't enjoy her presence either.

"It's hard logic, your grace. Sometimes we... need a little reminder things are different here. If we have something, we might as well use it." He said, alluding to having a princess on their side more than anything else.

@Star48955

The Solar guard stepped up to her from behind. "Sorry, don't mean to bother you... do you remember me? Red Maul, the orphanage?"

He stared at her for a moment, a more curious than anything. Though, he did look apologetic for 'bothering' her.

"It's okay if you don't, I understand. I know things changed a lot for you over the years." he concluded.

@Biohazarddallas

Napoxal blinked a few times, looked up, and put a hoof to his chin in thought. "That's quite a lot of information. To your first question, there's been a bit of a boon in souls lately. Naturally, demons are taking advantage of the morbid curiosity of mortals. I blame the youth of today."

"As for the next few parts, I hate her as much as you probably do. However, she and her lover are far stronger than I. So, I merely nod and keep my head down. As for her name, well, that's an excellent question. We usually call her Lady Velvet, but that's not quite it. She doesn't like to be summoned, thinks she's above all that, so she hijacks our summoning when she needs to get hold of a mortal." He explained.

"And lastly, you'll have to be a lot more specific. I have no idea what crate she might want, but I might know if you give me some details. She's not exactly liked in the demonic community." He added.

"The phalanxes are keeping the worst contained, good." Legion observed. He didn't even flinch as a stray brick flew past his head.

"Tell the team leaders to press in, get the rioters away from the residential district. Their targets seem to be the homes of the hostages, keep them away from them. How many have been arrested so far?" He asked the officers.

Lory watched as Legion entered the portal he'd created and dissolved inside it, vanishing from sight. She raised an eyebrow in confusion, assuming he'd transported somewhere else. Shrugging dismissively and rolling her eyes in a motion that suggested 'about time', she turned around to join Princess Luna and the guard in their conversation.

"Look... I know you bunch might not like little old me that much. And don't worry: the feeling is reciprocal." The mare calmly explained to the guards in the vicinity. "But for real now... I might be stupid, but I'm not so stupid as to put our very Princess of the Moon in danger. If I'm going out there with her, I am going to protect her. Believe it or not." She said with a foreign touch of zeal, hoping to convince them of her intentions. Indeed, her words were true: she was speaking with her heart. It still felt somewhat nauseating to spout loyal vows to protect someone dear or important, but she was being sincere nevertheless.

"Haven't gotten the full reports yet." A nearby lieutenant replied, looking over a notepad as he nodded to one of the messengers. "Roughly... sixty so far."

The captain nodded at the order to push into the neighborhoods. "Very well. Still having some trouble consolidating our gains, but a show of force should cause vigilantes to give a second thought before breaking into some innocent bystanders house."

As they spoke, a unicorn stepped up onto the platform with the hostages, the crowd starting to shout and yell in anger at the supposed 'cultists'. It was difficult to hear whatever the unicorn was announcing, but whatever the case, he was trying to take charge of the situation.

@Star48955 @Techno Universal @Driz

Most of the other guards gave Lory a skeptical look, but they weren't about to go against Luna's commands. They decided to instead give the mare a wide berth. One, however, stepped up to her. Instead of dressing her down or acting high and mighty like the others, he instead produced a pair of thick gloves from a satchel at his side, offering the pair to Lory. They had metal pads at contact points on on the underhoof connected by a thick leather shell.

"Wait, my lady," One of the guards interjected, the very same that had held back Techno. "My lady, this Stallion claimed to have something that could be of use. I think he's a researcher at the university."

The guard ushered Techno forward. "Go ahead, you mentioned a cape earlier?"

@Star48955

The guard contradicted Snow's somber tone with something far more upbeat. "Ha! I knew it..."

The pegasus brought up his hoof to ruffle her main lightheartedly. He was a tall fellow. When they were younger, he was perhaps unusually tall and bulky, certainly didn't look like some innocent colt.

"You know, they never told us where you went, just disappeared one day. Guess they thought we'd be jealous or something, probably right." He chuckled. "You deserved it though, out of all of us I think if I remember right. But me? he he, guess no one wanted a big mean looking colt like me."

Suddenly he struck a somewhat... corny muscle flexing pose. "Ha! Bet they regret it now! Missing out on this brilliant hunk of stallion!"

He chuckled again. "So what have you been up to?"

@Biohazarddallas

"Alright," Napoxal replied thoughtfully. "Calico was a city that was destroyed about fifteen hundred years ago. I believe NorthWatch was the guard battalion assigned to it at the time. They say a talking painting was responsible for causing untold chaos inside the city before before the madness ensued. Perhaps that's what the crate contains, I wouldn't put it past Velvet to try and find it and learn from whatever lesson it might contain. Maybe she wants it for vanity sake?"

He shrugged. "I doubt it's of any importance other than sentimental value in truth." He concluded. "There are no other valuable artifacts from the city, none that have been remembered by time or demons at any rate."

As they spoke, a unicorn stepped up onto the platform with the hostages, the crowd starting to shout and yell in anger at the supposed 'cultists'. It was difficult to hear whatever the unicorn was announcing, but whatever the case, he was trying to take charge of the situation.

@Star48955

@Biohazarddallas

Techno replied to the guard...

TU: I guess I should then! Anyways let's just say I used to be a top researcher at the university until the university was raided when the outbreak started.

Techno then approached Luna to bow a little for her...

TU: So to be honest princess you probably remember me from the university. I remember you would often visit my lab and check up on what I was working on and you may remember I was developing a new fabric that could be injected with magical properties. I was ultimately planning to make massive capes using it and the capes would have magical properties like my cape here. Though apparently I believe someone got their hands on all of my documents when the university was raided and they are continuing my work. Plus if they made this cape here it's highly likely that they created more than one cape so there's probably more of them somewhere like they might even be sitting around in the basement levels of Cantralot.

Luna smiled at Techno. "Yes, I do remember you Techno." She then frowned lightly. "It is troubling to think somepony might have done that...although I can't say I'm surprised."

 In her head Luna was making a face.

I don't need protecting because I'm a princess.If anypony, it's my enemies are the ones who need protecting........

((OOC:The last part was just to make you guys laugh.:please:))

"I want unicorns lobbing teargas spells. We can't let them get organized." Legion ordered, watching the crowd intently. The thestral smiled as several rioters were dragged away by guards from the burning remains of a home. Fireponies moved in almost immediately, dousing the flames. The push was working, and soon the residential districts were clear of the rioters.
