If you made your own version of the MLP movie

If you made you own version of the MLP movie, what would it be like?

My version of the movie would be over 3 hours long, with James Cameron being the director and writer. I would have Tuomas Holopainen of the band Nightwish compose the music for the film. I would also have former Disney, Don Bluth, Amblimation, Warner Bros, and DreamWorks animators work on the film. Instead of the film being done with Toon Boom Harmony, it would be done with a raster based animation software called TVPaint, along with other high end software like Photoshop, After Effects, Maya, Nuke, Houdini, and Renderman, having a much bigger budget. The story would be more complex and intense than the actual film, and would have even darker and more emotional moments, and more exciting action scenes, along with a compelling villain. Other characters like Starlight Glimmer, Trixie, Discord, Shining Armor, Ember, Thorax, and the CMC would also be included in the film, along with new characters.

Yeah my version of the movie would be based off my theory of MLP. (Linked in my signature.) So it would be the final battle between my OC Techno and his brother Herobrien plus the movie would be very sci-fi and cyberpunk themed so the soundtrack would be very futuristic and truancy sounding. Plus I would have the movie made using CGI so it would look mostly realistic so everything other than the characters will look just like the real life world while the characters  are semi realistic with the details of fur but they are not too realistic so they don't look creepy! :)

I would let the original 2017 movie go up until the opening invasion, at which point Robbie Rotten walks in and pulls a curtain over it like so:

"Watch this instead!" Then he pulls the curtain back up to reveal both the Mane 6 and all popular background ponies taking apart the Storm Creatures Bayonetta-style for an hour and a half, complete with blasters for all four legs. On top of that, the action expands to match every final battle in the Star Wars movies. And the final boss is similar to Jubileus the Creator and has an equally epic fight scene, complete with the "punch its soul into the sun" ending.

Everything the same but the finale battle should have been done better.

I would *deep breathe* cut the character of Grubber entirely, halve Sia's screentime, cut the 1st generic friendship song, use Capper's song to show the Mane 6 trying to interact with the town, make the ponies initiate most friendship making themselves, show the passage of time with more supporting characters, give older princess trio a more active resist role...And I think it would have been an A plus movie with that list of nitpicks settled.

edit: oh and also start the movie off with something that wasn't f'n "we've got the beat"

Are you actually kidding me.

^Yeah, this. Was not a good feeling to be on the movie's bad side before anyone had even spoken a line.

Ditch Grubber, of course, maybe write a scene with Tempest at the beginning and give the festival a little time to breathe before her arrival so it doesn't feel like quite the lame plot transition ( like how they got to fully enjoy their party in the pilot episode before Nightmare Moon showed up ).

Think I'm going to make it a personal project to do my own full script rewrite once this is out on Blu Ray. Got a bunch of ideas floating around

If I made my own version of the MLP movie?

I would start the movie with the "friendship festival" like the original, but I would have the diplomatic leaders of the Dragons, Changelings, Yaks, Buffalo, and Griffons there as well. Why not enjoy friendship with all of Equestria's allies and not just ponies. Discord and Thorax's brother Pharynx would be there as well. You would think the party would be the most secure place in the world, however this version of events has the Storm kings soldiers and Tempest being a much more formidable threat than they were originally. Instead of Tempest manually shooting those little orb things, the Airships they are flying in on launches a stream of cannon fire of the devices, Catching the Princesses and several bystanders in the process. Before they even land they've caused panic throughout the party. Some of them like Ember, Thorax and the Yak king manage to not get hit, but that is when Tempest comes in. She deftly handles all three of them similarly to how she handled the princesses the first one, knocking, though in the process one of Storm kings soldiers gets a face full of Ember's fire, which they are shown to be weak against. Before Ember fully turns to stone, she tosses her staff to Spike, who catches it and watches in horror as she turns to stone. Twilight and the others manage to escape like they do in the original, however All of their allies are cut off. Even Discord who was holding himself the best out of everyone. When they were getting close to attacking Fluttershy his chaos roared into action, sending the guards flying and making him quite large and imposing. However even his chaos magic couldn't hold off the volleys of anti magic orbs being thrown at him from Tempest and the surrounding airships. He held them off long enough for Fluttershy and the others to escape and kept a brave face about it the whole time. Tempest Gloats to him about defeating the Spirit of chaos, and Discord merely scoffs and says something to the effect of "do you think this is the first time I've been turned to stone dear? Please."

With the leaders of their allies down and their capital taken, they have to decide on their next courses of action. Pharynx, who was hesitant about being at the pony capital to begin with is livid that his brother was captured and in the heat of the moment blames them for what happened, rushing off to the Changelings before they could stop him. Spike was also split up from the group during the whole affair and assumed that they were captured as well, given he saw every strong person he knew getting captured and turned to stone. With Twilight hearing something about Hippos from the princess on the way down and her other options gone at this point (as without their leaders the other nations would be really hard to convince to help them) they go off to southern Equestria to do their thing.

While The mane six are trying to find the hippogriffs, Spike is moving across occupied equestria to get to the dragon lands with the staff in hand. He tries using the staff at one point to call out to the dragons, but he ends up drawing the attention of a company of Stormking soldiers. There is a chase scene and Spike does fairly well with keeping them off his tail, even scorching a couple of them when they try to grab him. As he gets cornered against a rocky cliff face with the remaining soldiers closing in, a group of familiar dragons swoop down and make short work of them, their thick hides, sharp claws and fire breath being more than a match for the soldiers who end up retreating. The group is none other than Garble and his friends, who were compelled to answer the call of the Dragon Lord's staff. "Long time no see runt."

The mane six's journey is pretty similar to the movie, save for spike not being there. Tempest devotes her attention to trying to find them, and they manage to stay one step ahead while they are heading for the hippogriffs, which right now is their only hope since all their other options are locked off to them as they see it. Every one of their allied leaders is captured, and they have no way of knowing whether or not they've already fallen to this invading army or not.

Things go pretty similar up unitl Twilight is captured, where it takes them a bit longer to realize she is captured since spike is not there. They are met up with the Pirates, Capper, and the Hippogriff princess like before and they move to save the princess. It's right around where they are organizing their trojan horse strategy that things change. Once they start fighting, the overwhelming numbers of the Storm kings soldiers and their anti magic defences are just as tough as before, and it seems rather bleak though they are fending for themselves well enough. The storm king has the magic of the princesses in his staff, his soldiers are preventing the rescue party from getting to him, and then....

The sky's darken.

In the sky, Spike rides on the head of Torch, the former Dragon Lord and the father of Ember and wearing a strapping set of armor to boot, flanked by a formidable air force of dragons, including Garble and his friends. Fire balls pepper the ground and knock out Storm king soldiers, freeing up the main groups rescue mission. Spike lets out a cute battle cry as he leads his army, getting them to attack airships and ground forces alike. However they aren't the only ones there. Some of Stormkings soldiers transform into changedlings (fandom name for the reformed changelings) surprising them in the commotion and further dismantling their military force and morale. There is a flashback of a meeting between Spike and Pharynx  who organized this raid. Pharynx being the more military minded of the two organized the infiltration of Canterlot while Spike readied the bulk of the attacking force.

Even with All of Stormkings temporary power, he can only shoot down so many dragons and changelings at a time. The whole place is a warzone that he was not prepared for. Just prior to the attack, he had also snubbed Tempest of her reward as well, making her realize her mistake in trusting him at his word. With his airships going down and his legion of soldiers in disarray from the changeling and Dragon armies, he seeks to make his escape, but not before the rescue party gets involved. He tries to whip up a powerful storm, which does hamper the efforts of they flying dragons, but Torch and spike manage to grab the party in the skies as they were blown away. Torch sends them flying back strong enough to break through the winds and they manage to get the staff out of his hands. From there events play out similarly to the movie, Twilight gets back the staff and Storm king. is turned to stone and subsequently shattered by Tempest's actions.

From that point, everyone gets freed, including Ember, Discord and the others. Spike gives Ember back her staff and she praises him for his hard work and that his little armor outfit looked nice on him, which makes him all bashful, Pharynx just hugs his brother and tells him to shut up and not make this sappier than it needs to be, and Tempest gets her reformation scene with Twilight.

That's how I would have done it anyway.

Basically it would mostly be the same, except for being a bit longer in order to give Capper and the Pirates more room for a less fast turn to good.  Also Fluttershy would do a little bit more.  And I would have placed a Sunset Shimmer cameo in the end credits.
