With out discord we would not have people like John De Lance and prehaps it introduced some Star trek fans t the series due to John De Lance admit it he is a amazing voice actor for Discord also Discord is Great when paired up with either Twilight sparkle (Do we call her his Rival?) or fluttershy(best pony). And after his arc of redemption was completed he was just a blast to see. Here is to hoping we get more of this draconequus ^_^

*to sorry Typos are the worst

Yeah i am glad discord Came in season two

I enjoy the character immensely, though I now wish they added limits to his power, just to quiet the complaints when he doesn't show up to save the day during every world ending event.

I guess it's kind of evident from his role in last few seasons that he can be defied by pure magical power, but they can't just have him popping up to assist everywhere in the future for the sake of narrative drama. It'd be neat if they gave him something like a greater mission of some kind as the spirit of chaos to retroactively help with that. Like how in his most recent episode his existence is tied to being chaotic, what if he is actively busy a lot of the time maintaining his side of the cosmic balance. Course that would add more questions, but none I think which would immediately need answering

I think there is a bit of both really. Yes, there are constraints on his abilities - after all, the Elements can imprison him in stone, and the throne artifact in the changeling kingdom could negate his powers entirely (and those of the ponies, of course).  More than that though, his default state is to act on whatever thought occurs to him, as soon as it occurs to him - and while he can override that, he can do so only at great personal risk.  Twilight's kingdom is a strange one to read though. Despite his almost fanatical attachment to Fluttershy, he was willing to betray her to Tirek; however, clearly he knew the significance of the keys, and gave Twi the hints that led to her unlocking five of the six; he personally gave her the sixth, after she rescued him from Tirek's own betrayal; that required that Twi be willing to make the trade she did, which was a significant gamble... and I think that is in fact the core of that act. He gambled - his own freedom, the safety of Fluttershy, Equestria itself - on Twi being willing to still claim him as her own, after his betrayal, not knowing that doing so was the key (pun intended :D) to saving all of Equestria.

And that very act shows the dangerous nature of relying on Discord for anything - he may choose not to know what is happening (or he may not); he may choose to not act, or to act against the interests of the ponies, or act to protect Fluttershy even if that increases the risk for everypony else. The outcome of ANYTHING that involves Discord is uncertain, and there is no situation that couldn't potentially be made worse by including Discord in it.  Which is very much a good thing, in a narrative sense - the ponies are better served trying to resolve things themselves, and the story is better for it.

Actually, I think it was more a drawback of trying to change his dimension too drastically.

And later, main comic #57 reinforced that by revealing that the source of his powers is, in fact, said dimension.

Also possible; Would prefer to think he is forced to act that way by his nature though, rather than just being an asshat :)

This is beautiful, this could do so much so for his character.

He didn't change his dimension though, all he changed was himself and his house.
