Apparently, pony is Cockney slang for 25 pounds (I remember reading about rhyming slang once and thought "pony" sounded familiar in a money-related context). But bits are the currency used in Equestria so I don't think that's relevant.

The other possible meaning I can think of for "spending a pony" is trading an actual pony for some goods. But that's a really disturbing idea in the context of the show so I'm not going there...

If it costs a pony to spend a penny, you're either doing it wrong or I don't want to know. Well, okay I don't want to know either way.

Honestly, I can't tell if this is supposed to be a forum game or a status update gone wrong, so I'm going to err on the side of 'This isn't the right subforum for this'. :)
