Reasons you’ve left the forums for long periods

I've been experiencing problems in life, and many things are constantly changing for me, that's why I sometimes take long periods of time off these forums.

I haven't been away from here for a prolonged period of time since back when I first joined and wasn't too concerned with logging in here.

I left a long time in 2015. I mean well my life was really horrible around 2014-2016. Granted my life isn't better, but at least is tolerable. That and I stop watching FiM.

I haven’t left since I joined, but I do have the mindset that maybe one day I will probably leave since I feel a bit disconnected due to irl. But for the time being, still here.

I was banned for nearly 4 years for repeatedly hitting on MLPF's female members, does that count?

I was banned for two weeks over some forum drama started by other toxic morons that by my luck I happened to be dragged into. And I was going to take a long hiatus from the forums after a particular incident prompted me to entirely not want to be on here anymore (but that only lasted a couple of days). I still see some issues I have with some people on here, but it isn't quite as bad as it was. I thought it would only get worse, because before that point it only had...  

 

I also left for about a month, because I couldn't access my old account, before I decided to make a new one. On my old account, I actually never really left for any real extended period of time. I was just not quite as active of a poster on that account. I've already outposted what that account had in 4 years in less than 2 if that says anything. Though I have been forced to leave for extended periods on both accounts unwillingly as well because my internet stopped working (it hasn't worked where I live in almost 2 years).

I took a hiatus for nearly 3 years (September 2016). School and depression is the reason why I was not active on the forums, thus gradually losing interest to the show and the forums as time progressed. I've recently returned over month ago and now that I'm back, I'm way happier than I was before

I haven't taken any extended time away from the forums, at least not exceeding a couple weeks. I love it here. If I'm gone for a few days, it's because I'm traveling w/o internet service.

Also things irl like I get busy. I know some of the hiatus's I took it was just due to me being so busy at my job I just forgot about even logging in on here. Sometimes I do grow bored of posting on here and take a break. I feel like I might have another break coming soon tbh lol.

I do not blame you for taking long breaks. Just know this place feels more like home when you do come back around from time to time. Always nice to hear back from your sassy style. When you do take a break, I hope you find it to be very refreshing and recharging.

I took a hiatus once to build a business and I regretted it because so much happened when I was gone but now that I am back, things are so peaceful and functional. I will also be taking a break just to see where I can reset my life a bit.

Yeah as I mentioned most of the time I go on them is because of work. Things just get so busy that I end up forgetting to hop on here and on other websites. My poor Instagram has been neglected for years lol.

I left here for short time like 3 years I believe. Because I just wasn't as interested anymore and forgot about it hehe. But i checked in few times to look around but I dont think i posted anything during those times. But now i recently came back this month because I'm bored being on just discord for Monster High/doll stuff.

Funny enough, I kinda forgot this place existed (shame on me) after my last activity streak in early 2022. With college and work taking up most of my time, I found myself cherishing moments with family and friends more, thus limiting my exposure and activity in online spaces. 

However, I recently had more free time than usual and decided to draw some ponies... browsed through some reference art for Rarity when lo and behold, one of them linked to the forums... and now I'm back on the best corner of the internet.

Coming across this again reminded me of a staff role I used to have on a forum I met another good friend on ages ago. Especially the threads I would frequent. I made two "clubs" we'll call them on there. One thread made it to a second one though and gets posted in occasionally throughout the year to this day which is wild. Same with the other club I had made. it still exists without us to this day. I was entertaining af and a wild card while the other user was more serious and level headed. It worked. Love me or hate me you always came back because I was entertaining af. Even when I came at your faves. We were hella active too which is something that can't be said for some staff on some sites. I've joined some forums where I think I've only seen like one of the mods lol. We posted a lot. Like all things everything dies. So did that. Which I made a new account on there recently as I lost access to the old one and it's dead compared to how it used to be. I think with every forum I end up apart of I'm looking for that same experience that I just don't find. Which leaves me on this staying/going fence because I'm not fully happy. I come back and I leave. Sometimes I never come back. There's a few I joined over these past few years I've never went back to. Not what I'm looking for. I've said it about a million times but there could be a day where Clawdeen truly doesn't come back. I think when that time comes I'll likely have found what I've been looking for though.

I've left forums for various reasons over the years, the biggest one being I never felt I belonged or could make a meaningful contribution to the community at large.  I'd usually end up coming back, then leaving again when the same doubts kept raising their heads.  So, basically it's more of a 'me' thing than anything to do with the forums themselves.  I think now that I'm on more of an even keel that won't happen any more.

Kinda just depends. I was on/off for awhile, between 2018 to 2023. All of the people I used to talk to have left, and since I don't really watch or talk about the show the only place for new content is in beyond equestria. I also remember taking a break in 2015 since the amount of trolls and toxic people were insane.

• The first time was because someone who is now thankfully banned from here convinced me to leave because I had "nothing" here without them. It was a very messy and abusive situation that I'm so glad to be forever done with.

• The other reason is, well, interesting... I was permabanned for a good few months under the assumption that I was a minion to someone's nefarious doings on and off this site. It was an absolutley devastating situation for me and the many others that were involved but by the grace of a dear friend and some staff here, I got a chance to share my side of the story and clear my name. Just to be clear with everyone, I have no hard feelings about the ban! I understand that mods were just doing what they thought was the safest thing to do at the time.

So, uh, lesson learned, don't get too involved with toxic people like that and think they can change. There are unfortunately people out there that want to cause harm and you can't convince them otherwise, so it's best to just stay out of their way as much as possible and report them if you must.

Also, I don't plan on taking long breaks anytime soon unless I just have to for IRL stuff  I love this forum and I'm very happy to be apart of it once again!
