Technically,  the show's not very realistic when it comes to ponies, either. So this is as close as we can get to any technicolor pony and technicolor human in the same shot.

I always think of mares to average close to 4 feet, while stallions are slightly taller than 4 feet. I do not imagine them any smaller or bigger than that.

This has already been addressed by people who are into math on another site with several different means to come with a general answer of between 3 and 4 feet for the most part.

I usually use this chart. Celestia tends to be 6 feet (not counting the horn), while Luna is about 5 feet (not counting the horn)

I'd say that they might be just a little bit smaller than average real life ponies, with some of them such as Luna being about similar size and Celestia being slightly bigger.

I recently found a great comparison which uses Tank and Rainbow Dash.

There is that blooper moment where the two Rainbow Dash's are on the screen at the same time so that should give you an idea, but I wouldn't take it to heart since it was a blooper and all intended to be funny as opposed to being serious.
