Which pony of the mane 6 would you have as your girlfriend?

I'd say Applejack. She seems down to earth and easy to get along with, plus she wouldn't let me get away with any of my crap. Granted, she probably doesn't swing my way, but it is what it is.

Well I guess because my original posting was to justify this very behavior, I guess I should throw in my two bits.

To rate in brief:

Rainbow Dash = Not a changeling's chance on the moon.
Twilight Sparkle = No interest, but I wouldn't mind.
Applejack = Natural fit
Pinkie Pie = Interested
Rarity = Highly compatible, VERY interested
Fluttershy = SOUL MATE!

To eleborate:

I love Rainbow as a character! Easily the most action oriented of the group, she and I usually have the same idea of how to approach problems. Direct action! Though that in of itself is where the differences become stark. While I advocate violence for self-defense, you need to know what you're getting into and how to fight the enemy. The "Blossom" approach to Dash's "Buttercup." Dash is also too much of a tomboy for my taste. I've no problem with those who are, they just aren't attractive to me. For her part, she would probably hate my guts! I place a great importance on protocol, procedure, manners, working in the system, and following codes of conduct. You can probably already see the problem. I TRY to be lawful good, she's a solid chaotic good. Most of my mannerisms would be off-putting and downright irritating to her.


Twilight has been the pony I identify with since the first episode. Her devotion to duty, insular behavior, and piety to a mentor figure are all traits I share. Twilight is smart, something I desire, she also is pretty and funny. Really the only thing that she's lacking is anything to (ironically) spark my interest. Again, as a character, she's awesome! As a person, she's remarkable and talented! As a potential romantic interest, I'm afraid she just doesn't hold much that I would want.

Applejack is in some ways, my fantasy of what could have been. I lived in Texas for a little while, hoping to find some nice people with some of the same sensibilities that I did and hopefully meet a cute southern girl. I found the former, no such luck with the latter. AJ is hard working, family oriented, and down to earth. She has much that I would love to share, I wouldn't mind working on a farm at all even! I'm just not really sure how she would react to me. Maybe like my ability to put in long hours of manual labor, but my conduct might remind her too much of Rarity. "Fancy" she might say. Maybe not an outright dislike, but as much as I wish otherwise, I'm not a cowboy. I imagine AJ falling for somepony not unlike her brother Big Mac. Stoic, strong, and appreciates the simple things in life. I may be wrong, but it's like I say, I don't know how she would feel toward me.


Pinkie was actually recommended to me by a friend! (Or rather she said, I would benefit from dating her.) All my tendencies can sometimes lead me to being a bit of a stiff. Pinkie would liven me up a bit. While I might possibly mellow her some. (Doubt that would hold for long though.) She's ALWAYS smiling, always happy, and loves to make people happy. Not to mention she loves to sing, I'm a decent singer myself and she already knows my favorite songs! The downside would come from Pinkie's lack of seriousness. Not that absolutely everything in a relationship must be heavy and deep, it wouldn't be very happy then, but I would still like to be able to sit and talk if there was an issue. She may very well be able to do so! She might even have some five second answer that would solve the problem! But I know me, whether she was right or not, I would be afraid she didn't understand and get frustrated at the thought that she didn't take what we have seriously. Weakness on my part mostly, rather than hers.

Rarity. Ahhhhh Rarity! The one who typically shares the top spot when she's not right underneath it. Rarity has almost everything that qualifies as a catch in my eyes! Rarity takes a great deal of pride in her femininity and seeks to actively cultivate it. She tries to conduct herself like a lady. (That's hot to me!) She also is entrepreneurial, owning her own business. This is a trait I deeply admire. Let's not overlook the obvious.


Somepony call the fire department, because she is smokin'! As for me, Rarity is actually the one that might be interested in me! I try to be chivalrous with the women I court, and her brief "date" with Prince Blueblood seemed to indicate she was expecting the behavior that's automatic for me. I may not be a prince, but perhaps I could be her knight in shining armor. Drawbacks? Really none I can see. I know she can be a bit of a drama queen but I always found that to be cute, and I can be one as well. Needy? Perhaps, but I don't really care. She can suck all my time and money as long as I get to spend it with her! For those of you saying "yeah right!" Keep in mind, before becoming a brony, my first girlfriend was quite literally the happiest time of my life. I felt complete and wanted nothing else but an excuse to be with her more.

Fluttershy is . . . . I don't know what to say other than PERFECT! Rarity is my "realistic" expectation of traits offered and being offered. Fluttershy is the fantasy. Her wimpering introduction to Twilight pretty much cemented my brony status. It was her that made me first realize I was having these feelings. So I can say she was the first pony I "noticed." It wasn't right away though, in brief, it sort of came about from reading youtube comments on clips of her. I disagreed with some of the content, but not the feeling behind it. That's when it hit me that I had a crush on her! Couple months later, and here I am! I love animals, and have an almost encyclopedic knowledge of many species. Fluttershy's care for them is very endearing. It adds to her nature as a healer, a deeply desirable trait for me. She's so polite, and calm, and demure. Sweet Celestia! As weird as it sounds, while being ladylike is hot to me, being demure is downright SEXY! Everything about her is soft, warm, and welcoming. Her coat, her eyes, her heart! As much as I hate to bring it up again, because looks matter very little to me on the whole, but she is BEAUTIFUL! Those big teal eyes, that flowing pink mane, her little nose, her tiny smile, those angelic wings! Fluttershy is precious. As chauvinistic as it sounds, I have a burning desire to protect and care for a woman! Fluttershy certainly IS capable of handling herself, but I don't want her to have to! I want to protect, comfort her, make her happy. That's what makes her stand out to me, is her ability to hit that button in the core of my Jungian anima. I have this fear that perhaps, she would be scared of me. Maybe just my physical stature, but more so my willingness to fight. (Martial artist and swordsman in training.) Despite my willingness to defend, she might not see it as a noble act. Still, I would try. Out of all the others I would be most willing to make it work!



. . . . She would be worth it.

As do I, as well as most in this thread. (Can't speak for that Red guy.) We are simply asking a question. Having an attraction to these characters is similar to a celebrity crush. You will never meet this person (or it would be damn unlikely) but they posses traits you desire romantically. With the Mane Six, it's almost reinforced as we know them and their personalities faaaaaaaar more than one would a celebrity. As long as one recognized they aren't real or let the desire for them block out real opportunities, it's just fun and can even be a helpful form of self-examination.
