I had a black label wagyu steak cooked rare with chips/fries, mashed potatoes and veggies on the side.

American wagyu, I presume? I bought some a couple of years ago to use in curry and when cooked right, it just melts in your mouth!

Last night, I made some Hot and Sour soup with lots of ginger, wood ear and shiitake mushrooms, a long scallion, and pork mince.

It was actually Aussie wagyu beef, sorry.

And yes, it's amazing to eat.

Your meal sounds lovely.

There's different grades of wagyu too I take it?

I mean as someone in the cattle industry(rancher),I've heard of it, but the stuff I've seen has a lot more fat in-that  just looks like our normal beef.

Yeah, the Kobe stuff is the most expensive and I need to have it.

That looks delicious! Hope you enjoyed it!

I most certainly did! :D

This morning – cooked breakfast & tea at The Gongoozla's Rest cafe, which is actually a floating narrow boat permanently moored in Braunston Marina, which lies at the crossroads of the Grand Union & Oxford canals, unfortunately since Covid-19 you're not allowed to go into the actual boat :unamused:

There was also this very fat robin, hoping for tidbits ...

The fat robin is gorgeous. It's mine now. Forever. And once again, you seem to be quite a smashing cook! All of this looks divine!

By coincidence, cheese & lettuce sandwich! With a hot sausage roll.

Wednesday – egg mayonnaise sandwich with salad & tea at Stonelegh Abbey tea room ... later, a mushroom & pasta camp meal (add hot water)
