How do you think the Changelings are actually born?

The obvious answer is that the queen laid the eggs. Hasbro and the writers probably won't elaborate on that. Queen Chrysalis doesn't even have the proper body type to lay eggs in mass.

I think it'd be a neat concept if their victims turned into changelings after having had all their love depleted, but I have no idea. Perhaps like some insects they reproduce asexually which is why there isn't much difference in their overall appearances. Since there wasn't really any individuality, it was a united effort to care for those in the larval stage.

I am pretty sure the Changelings don't just enter Mitosis and clone themselves, but we don't really know for sure.

Although i do like the idea of Chrysalis laying eggs.

And this leads to another question

"If she produces the offsprings, what will happen to the newly reformed changelings? They don't have a queen anymore right? Will they vanish because there won't be the next generation?"

Spoiler

That's what Ocellus is for, we just need her to grow up so she can start her own colony.

Why her over any other Female changeling?

and who knows, maybe the changelings just smash now that they are reformed.

Queen Chrisy laying the eggs has been a popular theory since times of yore, and Thorax's flashback seems to support that theory with how the eggs hatched in a chamber, with only her close by. But Oscellus' flashback has her with her own family, including a non-larva, but still clearly an infant sibling. Dunno how much their reproductive habits changed post metamorphosis, but looks like Chrisy isn't the sole mother of the hive

That's true. Their society isn't going to die out. They have female Changelings.

One thing that has always bugged (pun) me about this whole shebang is they never specifically mention that Chrysalis is the mother of the changelings. She clearly is, for at least most of them, but the show has never stated it outright. Perhaps they want to avoid any possible weird implications but still. Hearing Thorax say "Well I was raised by an evil queen" makes sense, but I would have preferred if he said "Well my mother is an evil queen" or something similar.

Of course none of this answers the original question, a question that I don't have many answers for now that Chrysalis has flew the coop.

There isn't really or can't really be a clearly is when talking about this stuff at all.

there are so many possibilities that an inference is just not possible.

Magic could make the eggs.

She could lay them.

Changelings could bang.

many more are options, we cant apply human knowledge of insects and say that is how they work.

I am a bit guilty of this but all i have are theories.

In Hearth's Warming Club, in Ocellus' story we see her family, including little baby siblings, so clearly something's changed.

A female changeling lays the eggs which are somehow fertilized by males. I don’t think Chrysalis was ever the primary mother, she is just a political queen, eggs were just congregated in the nursery.

But how are they actually made? How do the eggs get there in the first place?

Oh this question just begs to be answered with one of my favorite movie quotes: :D

Ripley: But each one of these things comes from an egg, right? So who's laying these eggs?

Bishop: I'm not sure. It must be something we haven't seen yet.
